Thanks for the response. I have done some more testing this morning
is discovered:

1. I can upload the same file using FTP without problems
2. I can send the same message using Outlook

Now going to see if the problem is caused by a combination of TB! and
my router config. I sent the message successfully yesterday from the
office using TB.

I have tested this. It appears to be a problem with The Bat! and my
Router (a D-Link DIR-655). I can send messages without problems using
my DSL modem plugged directly into my laptop. It is only when the
modem is connected to the router that I have problems.

It is totally strange!

The next test is to roll back a version or 2 of TB and see whether it
is a recent problem.

Strange Email Problems 3.99.24

2007-10-29 Thread Julian Beach (Lists)
Hello TB! Users,

I am not sure that this problem is TB! related, but since it appeared
since I upgraded to 3.99.24 a few weeks ago, I thought I would ask
here.

My DSL connection goes down when I send emails with attachments. It
appears to be size related - if the message is more than around 3.9Mb
then the my DSL connection is lost at that point. The send fails, and
I have to wait for my router/DSL model to re-establish a connection.

I am stumped by this. My ISP does not appear to have any limits in
place that would cause my connection to be cut off, but my router does
not tell me much other than a log entry to say that the WAN Interface
is down. I have tried my ISP's email servers and my backup email
servers via SMPTAUTH with the same effect.

Any clues anyone?

Julian
