Using individual templates
I have asked this question before, but have not received any helpful responses. Apologies in advance for asking again in the hope of solving this problem that vexes me considerably. When I reply to an e-mail note from someone whose e-mail address is in my Address Book, I expect that the reply template for that person will be used, if such a termplate exists. However, that is usually not the case; the account-level reply template is used instead. Why is this the case, and how can I prevent this.? Previous responses suggested that I may have more than a single Address Book entry for some persons, and this may be the cause of the confusion. My observations over time and repeated searches of my Address Book have demonstrated to my satisfaction that duplicate entries do not exist. One of the main reasons that I purchased The Bat is the richness of the template facility. If it is not working properly, I might just as well switch to Outlook that is included in Microsoft Office at no addition cost for purchase and for upgrades. Thanks. -- Leonard S. Did you try the following: Open the AB. Click on Personal AB. File - Export To - Address List (Plain Text) Open that file with an editor. Find (name of the person in question)? Still no duplicate entries? -- Best Wishes, Mark using The Bat! 4.0.26.4 Current version is 4.0.24.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

The most common reason for address book templates that aren't used are duplicate address book entries for the same address. That doesn't mean that both entries need to have that address set as primary address. Another reason that AB templates aren't triggered can be corruption of your address book. Create a backup with TB of your AB and restore that on top of your old one. AB templates won't be used when you edit the message body before you set the recipient. AB will only be used when they are set for the first address og the to gheader -- Groetjes, Roelof Unbelief in one thing springs = blind belief in another. http://www.voormijalleen.nl/ The Bat! 4.0.26.5 Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6001 Service Pack 1 3 pop3 accounts OTFE enabled Quad Core 2.4GHz 4 GB RAM pgp5lO5JusbSf.pgp Description: PGP signature Current version is 4.0.24.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

[Reply to: »Mark Partous« · 2008-08-07 · 16:20 h (CET)] Moin, Mark! My observations over time and repeated searches of my Address Book have demonstrated to my satisfaction that duplicate entries do not exist. How did you perform your repeated searches? Did you try the following: Open the AB. Click on Personal AB. File - Export To - Address List (Plain Text) Open that file with an editor. Find (name of the person in question)? Still no duplicate entries? An easier way would be: - copy the e-mail address of the recipient = [EMAIL PROTECTED] - open a new message - paste address in to: field = Automatic Completion will be triggered and in a list-box with all the corresponding AB entries will appear.
