I wish this would also work in the other direction, so you would find
the message that the highlighted one is a follow-up to.
I remember to have heard that this is what Ctrl-Backspace does when
there is no reply, but am not sure about it.

Is this possible?

Try Specials -> Open Reply or just press Ctrl+Backspace.

Nope. Right click the message, choose Specials, Open Reply, or
CTRL-BKSPACE.

"View follow up"?

Hi List,

I seem to remember once finding a useful thing: View follow up (my nomenclature). So, 
if I had a message displayed, I selected view follow up and it would show the email I 
had sent in reply to that one. 

I can no longer find this feature. Did I dream it?
