Always a trade-off against the application becoming a bloated

I support this idea !

Anyway, I guess that making a good soft, and a good release, is to propose new
features and the possibilities to switch it on or off...

Hi Robin,

Thanks I will give that a try.

Yes, I think that would be the best approach.

Couldn't Gerard define a set of view modes that reflect the range of
different sorts that he uses, and then use the hot keys to apply
different view modes rather than change a single view mode.

That depends, of course, on having a relatively small number of
different sorting combinations that he uses, but that is not unlikely.

Well, unfortunately for you in this case, the sorting order is one of
the things that define a view mode. So, if you change it and then move
to another folder, you are going to get the question you are starting to
hate. I'm afraid there is nothing you can do about that for the moment.
This, and other issues related to view modes have been discussed in the
beta list and I assume there may be some changes in the future.

What you may do is to log a Wish-List report in BT (if there is not
already one). I am sure you would get supporters for it.

The only thing I do is change the sorting of the emails in a folder. It
makes it easy to find mails. I do not realy consider that I change of view
mode.

View mode has changed grrrr..

2005-05-31 Thread Gerard
Hi Bat Users,

I get about 100 times a day a alert box that tells me the view mode has
changed and do I want to keep it.

I never do, but I can not find a default setting for this.
Does anyone know how to get this alert box out of my face?
