html rendering bug
Hello, My partypoker emails which contain hand histories in html format do not render properly in the new 3.1 pro version. the reason I think its a bug 1. the old emails from partypoker.com which contain my hand histories do not view right in the editor. Yet if I save them as a text file and open them in another application they look fine. There is a 'box' like character before the start of each line in the html hand history document. It seems to be like a return carriage character that you would find in a binary file or dat file. Anyhow, I have tried fiddling with the settings but the editor in the bat will not display them properly except on some hand history emails they do display properly. Another strange thing is when you click on the email hand history message, you can see it switch from the correct view to this mucked up view. Although it is very fast. Strange indeed. -- Cheers rick Current version is 3.0.1.33 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Occasional freezing problems
Hi, guys, This is an issue I have encountered even in earlier versions of TheBat... While writing a new message in the Message editor the whole application freezes for some 10-15 seconds and during this period I can do nothing. That's why I'm getting used to writing my messages in another text editor and only then pasting it in TheBat. My messages base is not so huge - if I make a backup it is not bigger than 20 MB. Anyone having the same problem? Thanks in advance! Current version is 3.0.1.33 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Recycle Bin in TB directory ??
Can anyone tell me how the 'recycle bin' in TB Program Directory works? Only just noticed it exists. Hello Mary, you wrote: MB I scoured the whole thing--looked under MAIL, looked under the MB separate accounts. Just don't see it. The folder is in my _Program Directory_ (Program Files|The Bat|Recycle Bin) no the mail directory, if this is different for you. I have very different locations for my mail directory and program directory MB I have no idea how this got configured in this way for you. Actually I think I may do. I was experimenting with test filters some time ago that attempted to send old attachments from my 'sent mail' archive folder to the recycle bin. I don't know how, but the filter must have created this folder ... all the files were moved there ('modified') on the same date, suggesting this is the case. The sorting office does allow you to select the Recycle Bin as target for extracted attachments from messages, yet running the filter 'catches' messages without actually moving the attachments to the recycle bin. They remain with the messages and don't appear in the RB. I just ran the filter manually again and this is what happened ... no more files were sent to the TB Program Dir Recycle Bin though, so perhaps that came in to existence when I was first mucking around with the filter set up. The messages filtered have had attachments stored separate from message bodies. I've since swapped back to embedding. I'm using v.2.12.00, but as I mentioned this happened when I used earlier versions also. Hello David! On Sunday, October 24, 2004, 9:10 AM, you wrote, in part: DB I just ran the filter manually again and this is what happened ... DB no more files were sent to the TB Program Dir Recycle Bin though, DB so perhaps that came in to existence when I was first mucking DB around with the filter set up. Okay. I don't have any such filter set up. My filters are all straightforward for moving messages with certain addresses in To or From fields to a folder. In re the position of Recycle Bin file within the TB! directory: I first looked in C:/Program Files/The Bat! and finding no such entry there, looked further under my Account names and under MAIL. Just nowhere, of course, did I find this Recycle Bin file because I had not created such a filter. DB The messages filtered have had attachments stored separate from DB message bodies. I've since swapped back to embedding. Good. That probably will solve any problems you were having. DB ANy thoughts on all of this would be appreciated... Re: Mod: Top posting (was: Occasional freezing problems)
Okay, sorry about this, my intentions were not to make it difficult for you to get the picture. The problem happened when I was using earlier versions of The Bat. Later I upgraded to 2.12.00 with a clean message database and the freezing never happened. As the number of messages increased the problem showed up again. There are 3 occasions when I experience the freeze: 1. When I write a message 2. I also experience the freeze if the editor is open but I browse my message folders at the same time 3. When I choose Send while I see the Connection center As I see it, the common thing is the editor being active. I don't have any spam checking plug-ins, or any virus checking software active. As a matter of fact while we were exchanging these posts I upgraded to the current version 3.01.33 and I experience the freeze while I'm typing this message again! I'm sure that if I delete all my messages it will not happen. My OS is Win 2K Service pack 4; Duron 1.3 Gh; 512 KB DDR Is there any other info necessary for you to explore the problem? Date of a sent message ?
Io, In the source of a message, I can see the date I've wrote it and saved. But if I don't send the message immediately, just save it, I can't find a way to know the date and time I've sent it (sometimes 3 days after wrote it). The first way I had found is to look at the log of account. It's ok for a recent mail. But if I want to know that for a mail of last month, I can't find it anymore in the log because the mail is too old. And I don't want to keep log for a such long time.
