adress book

2008-04-15 Thread Alto Speckhardt
Hi all,

can anybody help me on how to import an adress book remotley?

For some reason, my TheBat-users tend to loose their adress book
settings. They have a company-wide adress book that is originally set
as default, but after the event it is no longer registered in the
adress book browser.

I want to re-add it and set it as default by remote, without the user
necessarily being logged in. How can I do that?

Good afternoon MFPA,

It was foretold that on 14/04/2008 @ 01:40:55 GMT+0100 (which was
21:40:55 where I live) MFPA would write:

snipped a bit

 smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk,
 port 25,
 regular,
 perform SMTP authentication,
 same user/password as mail retreival.

No go here ... just tried and couldn't connect to the server message.

Hello Luc,

Anybody has a port setting that does work?

I've got two yahoo.de mail addresses set up. I usually do not send
mail from them, so I did not notice this problem. When I tried to
send a message it did not work. I checked the Yahoo page and found
the following page:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/mailplus/pop/pop-08.html.

You have to turn TLS on for the smtp-server. It will then change the
port to 465. This did the trick for me on both accounts.

You should btw also change the pop-server connection to TLS (and
automatically port 995). I'm not sure if getting mail still works
without it, though.

I think they could at least write a newsletter or something if they
change these settings... :-/
