I think I looked at this before then forgot about it, I'm in two minds whether to update it, or just remove the faq entry, because it doesn't really work all that well (doesn't clear the scrollback) and it forces serial ports to have control sequences that might confuse some terminals... Any thoughts? There are probably platform-based quirks that all the proposed changes don't deal with (i.e., sun), the scroll-back is an easily forgotten issue, remote terminals, etc. Let's just remove it. Nick.
