recent ipv6 changes: how to pick up rtadv without an autoconf address?

2014-07-25 Thread Stuart Henderson
Following the recent IPv6 changes, what method should now be used
to have a statically configured ipv6 address but accept router
advertisements to pick up a default route?

as discussed on icb:

--8--8-8-
inet6 2001:DB8::23
inet6 autoconf
up -autoconfprivacy
--8--8-8-

net.inet6.ip6.accept_rtadv=1 was a global flag, enableing acceptance
of router advertisements on _all_ interfaces. The autoconf6 flag
should do the same thing but on a per interface basis.

List {miniroot,install}??.fs in INSTALL.{i386,amd64}

2014-07-25 Thread Simon Kuhnle
Hi,

I have read about the dd'able (flash) images in the FAQ, but INSTALL does
not mention them. Is this intended?

I attached a patch that changes this and also mentions miniroot.fs,
which seemed to be missing, too.

Please adjust my wording or let me know and I'll adjust it
and send a new patch.

Regards
Simon

 inet6 2001:DB8::23
 inet6 autoconf
 up -autoconfprivacy

You probably don't want to wait for the first router advertisement
to show up, so I just use something like this:

-autoconfprivacy
inet6 2001:6f8:124a::6 64
rtsol

rtsol(8) will automatically set the autoconf6 flag on the interface.
