There is a lightdm 1.10.2-2 (note, not -1) build:

Yes, it looks like that fixes my problem. I started from the graphic
interface, logged out and logged in again, it works!

Thank you,

This is how it looks like. [1] It is part of gnome/gnome-shell.

I don't understand what you mean by "app-menu". On my desktop, there is

That setting should be saved, and other setting from view options (down

Hi Ankur,

a freshly created user does not show this behaviour: "Show hidden files"
is reset on logout.

Additionally for my account:

cat ~/.config/autostart/nautilus-autostart.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Hidden=false

So, how can I have the same behaviour? Where can I tune?

Kind regards

Same thing here. I'll try with a new user.

And this shouldn't be the expected behavior right? If you choose to see
hidden files then nautilous should remember your choice. So it seems you
also have the same problem but in reverse.

Hrm. I'm not seeing this here on my system:

nautilus-3.14.0-2.fc21.x86_64

Can you maybe test with a new user and see if the issue persists?

Even if I use ctrl H to see hidden files, if I close and reopen
nautilus, they aren't displayed for me.

nautilus and hidden files in F21

2014-10-08 Thread Joachim Backes
Hi F21 testers,

I'm running F21 (gnome3 desktop together with nautilus). My problem:
since some days, nautilus always shows directory contents including
hidden files. By unsetting the option "Show hidden files", hidden files
are not displayed (so far so good), but after logging out/in, "Show
hidden files" is on again.

I tried already "gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences
show-hidden-files false" as in earlier fedoras, but this has no effect
(hidden files are still shown).

Hot to get rid from this?

Current nautilus: nautilus-3.14.0-2.fc21.x86_64

All comments are welcome.

Kind regards

Joachim Backes

From the conversation I had with Kalev Lember and Will Woods, it doesn't
seem like an enormous amount of work to get into the Beta, but I don't
know at the moment how much progress has been made on that front. I'll
check with Will and see.

As this requirement is coming pretty late before Beta, do we have development
commitment to do required changes in fedup? I know Stephen, you were involved -
sorry, I didn't catch all the discussion - how does it look like? Do we have any
plan? I think it would be worth bringing it to today's FESCo meeting and I
understand how products upgrades fits into what we do in Fedora 21. So we
could be granted bigger slip.
