It shows a crash to gnome-shell from about two weeks ago (which is post-upgrade) but I haven't gotten it to run the report successfully yet. I did note a report in F26 common issues relating to gsetting org.gnome.SessionManager auto-save-session. It was set to true on the offending machine and false on the working machine. I reset the flag but haven't tried logging in yet. But the report suggests that only every second login will fail and I was getting failures on every login.
