Chrome & Opera Broken, while Audio is missing

2021-08-10 Thread Ifejika Somtochukwu Noble
Hey Guys,
After i updated to kernel 14 from 13 on Rawhide, my opera and chrome is now
broken, they open but can not load any page, while my audio is no longer
working, I have ran the most recent update as of yesterday and none is
still working, going back to the older kernel still did not work again.
Can you guys suggest any possible solution?

MariaDB Broken?

2020-09-02 Thread Ifejika Somtochukwu Noble
Hello Everyone,
After i updated my Fedora Rawhide, mariadb stopped working. i uninstalled
it and trying to reinstall again, but i keep running into error.

[root@noblecontracts noble]# mysql_install_db
Installing MariaDB/MySQL system tables in '@MYSQL_DATADIR@' ...
2020-09-02 19:22:30 0 [Warning] Can't create test file /usr/@MYSQL_DATADIR@
/noblecontracts.lower-test
/usr/libexec/mysqld: Can't change dir to '/usr/@MYSQL_DATADIR@/' (Errcode:
2 "No such file or directory")
2020-09-02 19:22:30 0 [ERROR] Aborting

Installation of system tables failed! Examine the logs in
@LOG_LOCATION@ or @MYSQL_DATADIR@ for more information.

The problem could be conflicting information in an external
my.cnf files. You can ignore these by doing:

shell> /usr/bin/mysql_install_db --defaults-file=~/.my.cnf

You can also try to start the mysqld daemon with:

shell> /usr/libexec/mysqld --skip-grant-tables --general-log &

and use the command line tool /usr/bin/mysql
to connect to the mysql database and look at the grant tables:

shell> /usr/bin/mysql -u root mysql
mysql> show tables;

Try 'mysqld --help' if you have problems with paths. Using
--general-log gives you a log in @MYSQL_DATADIR@ that may be helpful.

The latest information about mysql_install_db is available at
https://mariadb.com/kb/en/installing-system-tables-mysql_install_db
You can find the latest source at https://downloads.mariadb.org and
the maria-discuss email list at https://launchpad.net/~maria-discuss

Please check all of the above before submitting a bug report
at http://mariadb.org/jira

Has anyone run into this recently? Could this be evidence of a regression?

Self Introduction: Somtochukwu Ifejika

2020-08-06 Thread Ifejika Somtochukwu Noble
 Greetings everyone,

I am a Mechanical Engineer by training and a freelance Web Developer, I was
introduced to Fedora a couple of years back, but I started using it fully
for my work early 2019. I use the Rawhide version so I see some bugs, which
I believe when reported could improve the development of Fedora. I am new
to the Fedora community. I decided to build familiarity with the community
by joining QA first.
