Missing xfce work spaces -

2017-10-27 Thread bobgoodwin
Since yesterday I have only one "workspace" available. Xfce settins still
indicates 12 available but can only access one of them, only one windowicon is
displayed instead of the usual group of 12.

This is 27 beta updated daily, and I have been using it for several weeks
instead of Fedora 26 with no problems until now. 26 and 27 are booted from
separate drives so it is no surprise that 26, also updated, still works
normally.

Any suggestion as to what may have gone wrong will be appreciated.

So as to leave no stone un-turned, I installed XFCE from the most current Beta
and did an update. I then installed T-Bird. I again had no trouble to display
the sample messages you posted to the list.

I appreciate your effort. So it seems certain I have a unique problem, I
am at a loss to explain why. I've ordered another WD Black drive to
replace the failed drive and will do another installation on that in a
few days. I can't imagine what has caused the problem, I always do
things about the same way and stuff mostly works without a hitch ...

Yes, all are in a directory Text Messages under Inbox.

Never tried that until now, but it did not fix my problem ...

XFCE Mime editor only shows:
 application/smil+xmldefaultvideo

Can that be a problem?

I tried selecting Thunderbird instead of Video but it made no difference.

Actually, I doubt it will make any difference for 2 reason.

1. It displays fine for me and that is pretty much the same MIME definitions I
have.

2. And more importantly, the second line defines the entire message as
multipart/mixed, which if I recall my MIME standards correctly (don't have time
to check it now) the type is irrelevant since it is actually defined
individually for each part.

FWIW a quick check of other multipart messages in my inbox show no type defined
in that segment of MIME headers.

So, the part of the message which contains the text is defined as you'd expect
text/plain;

I also don't find doing forwards of much use in diagnosing a problem since you have to
know how the UA is going to mangle the message. There used to be a bounce
plugin for T-Bird which re-transmitted the message without alteration.

.

Ok, I'll just live with the problem for now and hope it gets better! It
looks like F-22 is almost ready and I will install it on the other
computer eventually and see what happens there.

Thanks,

Bob

You can join upstream bug report, I don't know what else to advise, sorry.

I don't know where to report the problem but it certainly seems to be
something if Fedora 22.

Thunderbird 31.6.0 will not display the subject or text from an iPhone
text message in F-22b, the same message displays normally in in F-21
with Thunderbird 31.6.0.

Thunderbird 38.0 will not display the subject or text from an iPhone
text message in F-22b.

Claws 3.11.1 will not display the subject or text from an iPhone text
message in F-22b.

It appears that it may not be dealing with application/smil properly?
Here is the last part of what I see in document source:

Again that same message displays normally in Fedora 21. None of the
3,086 text messages saved, except my cc's, will display in F-22 either.

Those are my observations, how should I report them, bugzilla?

So, I don't see any problems on either version of Fedora.

The only odd thing that I noticed you said you're running T-Bird 31.6.0 on
F22-Beta. But when I install T-Bird using DNF I get 31.5.0. Have you mis-typed or??

In the course of troubleshooting the problem I updated both computers to
31.6.0, F21 and F22. Initially it did not work on F22 which is what got
me off on this tangent. It doesn't matter what version of t-bird, the
text wont display in F22, I have thousands saved, what displayed in this
computer with every Fedora for the last few years will not display in F22b.

It looks like a problem to me. If I am right others will complain

the source or use another computer.

Thank you for looking at my problem,

Make a data copy:

Check with v38 beta2, so you have a reference:
