I'm still seeing this on every restart or shutdown. Currently 0212.n.0

Well, it has the same somewhat-quirky early build of GNOME Shell /
mutter that you already provided notes on from the COPR, so there's
that. Aside from that it shouldn't be too bad right now.

There are some minor quibbles but there is one very irritating
problem: very long ( > 4 minutes ) waiting times till shutdown or
restart (whatever method is used) on a bare metal install on 2
different laptops.

Well, there's a known bug (though I don't have the number to hand) for
something that delays 90 seconds on shutdown (it doesn't stop properly
and the timeout is 90 seconds). 4 minutes is a lot though, so you might
be seeing something else as well?

This is the one I'm experiencing.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1925320

With recent updates it's become transient, but still happens often.

How is the Mate Desktop Environment?

I was a loyal GNOME user until GNOME 3 was foisted on us.

So far, updates haven't fixed it, but I found that if I use the "enforcing=0"
boot option, the problems with both GNOME and the network are gone.

2021-02-11 Thread Lukas Ruzicka
Hi Matthew,

I was trying to upgrade my testing machine with Fedora 33 to 34, however it
did not work for me, because the repositories still seem to be out-of-sync.
At least, this is what I am hoping for the reported broken upgrade paths.
The 34 RPM-Fusion repos are not available either.

Re: so.... how solid is the f34 branch at branch time?

2021-02-11 Thread Andre Robatino
After clean installing from the first branched Everything netinst, and updating
fedora-repos to 34-0.12 (to get the branched repos instead of rawhide), and
manually enabling the fedora repo and updating, my network doesn't work, and
GNOME doesn't start (something about dbus). By running dhclient I can get the
network up so I can ping an IP address, but DNS lookup still doesn't work. I
don't know which update is responsible so I'll be updating in rescue mode until
it works again.
