[Texascavers] Free Firewood

2014-10-21 Thread Jim Kennedy via Texascavers
Gill has a large quantity of seasoned split firewood available to any taker.
It's generally short lengths, perfect for backyard firepits, chimineas, and
saunas. Must pick up at Gill's. Contact him for details. This has been a public
service announcement.

[Texascavers] Bolt Hangers

2014-10-21 Thread Mark Minton via Texascavers
For anyone interested in bolt hangers, ClimbTech currently has
stainless ones on sale for $1.99 each:
. That's only a little more than
they sell nonstainless for. And if you live in Austin and pick them up at
their store, there's no shipping charge.

Re: [Texascavers] UT Grotto Mexico trip in November

2014-10-21 Thread Mark Minton via Texascavers
Bill,

It printed for me, and I'm also using an out-of-date operating system,
albeit a different one (Windows XP). Actually, I printed it to PDF,
which I could then print on paper if I wanted to. I didn't actually
make a paper copy, though. Try printing to PDF first.

Crash -- Nice writeup on the trip. Looked at the text and the area

[Texascavers] UT Grotto Mexico trip in November

2014-10-21 Thread Crash Kennedy via Texascavers
Folks, the UT Grotto is planning a trip (in three parts) to northern Mexico
on the last two weeks of November. Although it is primarily billed as a
recreational UT Grotto trip (at least the last half of it is), it is open
to other fun cavers with passports. The first half of the trip will be the
13th Laguna de Sanchez expedition, where we will be surveying largely
vertical caves in a gorgeous mountain region.

If you are interested, and can commit to all or part of the three portions
of the trip, go to Google Docs and read the trip descriptions (with links)
at
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18oPzHfr5xBuh3AXECDJBdo8-MIhgifsboZKv-CiRN5c/edit?usp=sharing.
There is an overview map of the area at
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0c5-1Bi0Ao5SVRKcTFCSFdVOVk/view?usp=sharing.
And there is a spreadsheet with three different tabs for you to sign up at
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fvameOw780Alm3bWBiR5e7-mNBc1Eq8WwJr3Ij49dP0/edit?usp=sharing.
If you sign up and then something happens and you cannot go, please go back
to the spreadsheet and delete your name.

I'm trying this in Google Docs for the first time, and I hope it works.
Let me know if there are any problems. I'm hoping we can get a good
headcount in the next two weeks, so sign up soon, please! And sign up even
if you have already told me in person, by email, or on the LdeS website
that you are going. I will send out more details to participants once we
get a better handle on who all is going and to which part. And make sure
you have a valid passport!

Thanks for your interest, and let me know if you have any more questions
that are not immediately answered in the Word document. It's going to be a
lot of fun.
