[Texascavers] 3D map of Cambria Caverns available on web :

2018-08-01 Thread Jerry

New 3D map of Cambria Cavern released

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — The public will never be able to crawl into the cave
that opened up beneath a neighborhood west of Round Rock earlier this year, but
they can explore it using their computers thanks to a 3D map.

Cambria Cavern was discovered in February when a hole opened in the ground in
the Brushy Creek neighborhood, and further exploring revealed it was about 200
feet long, with four chambers. In May, the Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality approved a plan to close it up for good, and work began July 23.

However, before that point, researchers did extensive measuring and mapping and
used a Trimble SX10 scanner to create the 3D map, which can be viewed here (it
may take a little while to load). People can click on different points for
different perspectives of two of the cave's chambers, as well as drag to view
panoramic photos.

[Texascavers] Internet question

2018-08-01 Thread David
I am curious what services you all pay for on the internet.

I currently pay $ 5 per month for CS Camscanner.

I would like to pay annually for Dropbox Professional.
Anybody use that ?

What about eFax or some other fax service ?

Email me privately please.

 dlocklea...@gmail.com

While I am on this topic, what about phone or tablet apps that cost
money ?

I am self-employed and watching the money drain is frustrating. For
example, I have never had an EZ-Tag, and I have a delivery business.
That is like an ice-cream parlor without an ice-cream scoop.Nor do
I have a commercial parking permit.That is like a tailor without a
sewing machine.My biggest fubar is that I don't have a gas-credit
card, nor try to take advantage of gas discount programs, like the Kroger
card.

David

P.S. All my whining about trying to get to the NSS Convention was futile.
There was no way I could have got off work yesterday ( Tuesday ).It
would
have really hurt my business had I taken the day off.
