[Texascavers] CaveSim
CaveSim is coming back to Austin for the Austin Cave Festival later this month, and Dave Jackson is looking for help with CaveSim programs at Austin schools. Dave has been doing school programs with CaveSim for almost 9 years, so the programs run really smoothly with enough helpers. If you help with a CaveSim program, you get to do things like teach kids about SRT on a 12' A-frame, teach them about Search & Rescue using a Sked, help them use a squeezebox, and help Dave with demos (carbide, field phones, knots, etc.) Dave and Mary Hicks will be in town doing CaveSim programs from February 15th through March 4th, and can use help on 2/15, 2/20, 2/21, 2/25-28, and 3/4. If you're interested in helping, contact Dave by email at jacksond...@cavesim.com, or on Facebook (look up CaveSim and send a message). [Texascavers] CaveSim
Cavers, I was talking to Dave Jackson at the NSS Convention a couple of weeks ago, and he was wondering if we wanted CaveSim at TCR again this year. He would love to come again, but I think we had to raise about $1500 last year to cover his expenses. TCR Honcho Don Arburn said it was very popular, but he doesn't have time this year to raise the money. Is anyone out there in caverland willing to take on this responsibility? It's a great addition to TCR.
