Out of curiosity, does your drone stabilize itself with GPS? I've been wondering how the control characteristics might change on such a drone when in a cave environment where GPS is unavailable. ___ Texascavers mailing list | http://texascavers.com Texascavers@texascavers.com | Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/texascavers@texascavers.com/ http://lists.texascavers.com/listinfo/texascavers

Re: [Texascavers] Drone flying and caves
George, my model is GPS stabilized. There are other models that have a 2nd camera on that will stabilize for indoor environments. Some are limited to just looking at the floor, etc. Ideally, you would have proximity sensors on it, but I haven't researched to find a model to do that, probably out of my price range. They can get VERY expensive. On Mon, Apr 27, 2015 at 12:45 PM, George D. Nincehelser via Texascavers texascavers@texascavers.com wrote: Out of curiosity, does your drone stabilize itself with GPS? Charles, Bring it to TCR this year. There is a cavy looking lead high up in the cliff that the owner has seen coyotes coming and going. He wants us to check it out. We could do the drone first, then try to reach it from above.
