Re: [Therion] Aven colour by loop error

You are right, and I do use the workflow that you describe.

However if one needs a very quick and very clear macro representation of how
good the loop closures are, or if you want to compare projects. Or if you
inherit or need to debug someone else's project, then the methods available
in Therion are tedious.

Aven provides a very nice way to make these macro comparisons (once Therion
can export the data).

PS: I am thinking mainly of centrelines here, scraps are not so relevant.

The Therion debug feature is useful, but I would suggest that it is for
micro interrogation of at most a few scraps at a time, and not for quickly
identifying the macro loop error health of a project.

Typos like the one you describe would not be evident from scrap distortions,
at least in my case, as (in the old days of manual surveying with compass
and book) the scraps would be drawn using the erroneous data, so no
distortion mismatch between centreline and scrap would be flagged by
Therion. Would only be found by the person drawing noticing that something
looked out of proportion.

It is the question of your workflow.

I check each scrap individually, I check each map, each bigger map etc. I
check it after each equate command (new loop closure), etc. I'm not sure if
the best way is to start from huge system down to individual scraps.

At least Insert, Delete and Split line work just fine from the right-click

Right. I see what you mean. I can reproduce that.

It does work if you use the keyboard to select the item, rather than
clicking with the mouse, so I think the issue is actually the click
getting lost. No idea why that should be.

I've created a bug report to stop it getting lost:

Hmmm I was not trying those options. You are right - they do not work
for me from the right-click context menu. I can change the line type, set it
to reverse, do "outline in". But I cannot insert or delete points, or split
the line.

I checked the context menu on some points too. Everything I tried there
works.

Ubuntu 15.10 and 16.04. Both with Debian package 5.3.16.

Yes, I've had this problem too. I meant to report it or investigate

[Therion] xtherion: "Edit line" contextual menu for line points doesn't work

2017-02-23 Thread Rodrigo Severo via Therion
Hi,

I can't make any of xtherion's "Edit line" contextual menu options to work.
When I right click on a line point and choose some of the "Edit line"
submenu options nothing happens: no error, no change on the line, just the
menu disappears.

I have being trying to debug this for a while now. It's true that I spent
more time learning Tcl/Tk than actually debuging but that's not that
relevant ;)

If I use the "Edit line" button menu on the right pane everything works as
expected.

I already found out that this menu's definition starts at me.tcl line 2102
and that it's attached to the contextual menu at me_cmds.tcl line 3414.

I also found out that the actual command defined for each of "Edit line"
menu isn't called at all when activated through the contextual menu. They
are called just fine when they are activated from the side panel button
menu.

Any help? Suggestions? Pointers?

Thanks in advance,

You will find them by drawing scraps in xtherion with "debug on“ option in
thconfig immediately. Typos too - like 1.23/12.3 m length. Idea of scraps and
