 hi benny,

i've made an icon for thunar along the palette/style of the tango
project. i've attached the SVG and two png sizes. do whatever you wish
 with it (including rm'ing it).

 best,

After testing the icon on my desk here, I think I strongly prefer the
old one. It was kinda more individualistic and had more character. The
new one looks more like the usual half-shiny 3D icon using a matte color
scheme.

Just my opinion,

Indeed. Until someone comes up with a better icon, I'll keep the old one.

Hmm, looks more like a viking trying to hide himself behind a rock than
a file manager.

Kinda yes. Maybe we should just use the helmet without any files/folders
in the icon?

Wouldn't be the worst idea. It might be too difficult to combine a
viking helment and computer-related stuff visually without making the
outcome look somewhat ridiculous, I guess.

I imported the helmet for now. Suggestions/improvements still welcome.
The .svg version is available as icons/scalable/Thunar.svg in the Thunar
source.

That surely would look funny and cool, but that's probably beyond the
possibilities you have with such small icons (even if it's scalable, it
has too look clean when it's scaled down).

We'll definitly need a 16x16 icon for the menu. So either the icon
itself looks ok at 16x16 or we need a modified version.

not only that but the idea of a viking pillaging my filesystem and taking

Women and children... *hah* ... modern vikings take money and equipment. ;-)

Yes, my impression too. Maybe try to replace the file icon below the

I've put two quick sketches in

No experience with creating svg here, so only png - but it shows the idea.
