[tw] question regarding tiddler object
The 'tiddler' object is used in fET in where condition. I tried to find this object in the DOM using firebug, and I did find a 'tiddler' object under Window object but it represented the latest tiddler opened in display area. So how does this work? where are other tiddlers residing, the open ones and not yet opened ones? What exactly happens when a tiddler is opened, is an HTML Div created as well as a javascript object? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. When I said it was working for me - It was with the defaultMap... I didn't try with new maps, however now I did: 1)http://flytbar5.tiddlyspace.com/ 2)http://flytbar4.tiddlyspace.com/ As you can see I created new maps, however I had to copy the content from a new generated map into a new tiddler (taqgged "panelmap") and overwrite it with the same title Even if I did this I can't save new changes to tiddlySpace (this is however possible with DefaultMap!! - this puzzles me) > The issues in the thread linked to above are also still the same. > Saving to DefaultMap or NewMap in a standalone TW works fine, > reloading brings an empty page. If you want to open a set of tiddlers (with position and states contrived from a moveablepanel map) - I believe you'll need the openStory macro which comes with the StorySaverPlugin (TiddlyTools) We might just have to wait and see if Eric Shulman wants to make his plugins work on TiddlySpace. There's just to much (in depht) coding needed (for me at least) to make some of his plugins work on TS I believe it's caused by the extra fields needed on TiddlySpace - public/private etc and the need for autosave to be an option in the plugin itself... I rewrote parts of two plugins/transclusions to work on TiddlySpace a few months ago: One was Eric's transclusion "QuickNote" http://hu2.tiddlyspace.com/#QuickNote I added: "store.saveTiddler(title,title,text,who,when,tags,config.defaultCustomFields); story.displayTiddler(null, title); autoSaveChanges();" to make that one work... Another one I gave an overhaul was TiddlerNotesPlugin: http://hu2.tiddlyspace.com/#TiddlerNotesPlugin I removed sth and added: "var fields = t ? t.fields : {}; fields = jQuery.extend({}, config.defaultCustomFields, fields); store.saveTiddler(title+"-"+suffix,title +"-"+suffix,textarea.value,config.options.txtUserName,new Date(),t? t.tags:box.getAttribute("tag"), fields);" Don't know if this will help you ... Dear FND, Life is a process of evolution, of our consciousness. The Self first identifies itself with body and mind and then wishes to experience itself through these. Every thing that happens, all twists and turns are just steps in this evolving. When one comes to major milestones of life one should summon up the deeper and higher faculties of our mind which direct us toward this rightful path of evolution. Its just a awakening of the Self at a large scale. Your going away from Osmosoft or even Tiddlywiki is just part of the larger play of Maya. Nothing is lost, nothing is gained, its all a play. May you evolve even more. regards Passing by ps- Forgive me if my words seems out of place or too dramatic. I felt like saying these, the Indian in me could not resist. This seems like a good place to pay tribute to Fred's contribution to Osmosoft over the last three years, and the TiddlyWiki community for a good deal longer than that. Fred has tirelessly pursued the highest standards in shaping and contributing to our projects. For a long time I've had the luxury of watching Fred patiently and knowledgeably deal with the many questions and issues that pop up around the projects. His effortless recall of details means that I often refer to him for details of code that I've forgotten writing. Everyone in Osmosoft will miss his expertise. FYI, I have left Osmosoft[1], so I might not be quite as active around here anymore. Not sure yet how much time I'll be able to devote to Tiddly* in the future. In particular, it remains to be seen how this departure will affect my involvement in TiddlyWiki's core development. [tw] Re: Advanced use of cookies online
Thanks guys. I've read a bit more about http-cookies and it seems that question 2) is not of concern. I mean, since there's the domain attribute, the cookies shouldn't be messed among other sites, does they? Though, I have no idea why local TiddlyWikis share the same cookie. There's also the path attribute which seems to be able to solve this.. Or those attributes are not set when the SiteUrl tiddler is empty? I really didn't get the story with the SystemSettings. All I want is not to affect other sites made with TW. As for 1) script clearly solves the issue since plugins are applied last. Though, I don't understand if the SystemSettings allows some other solution. StroySaverPlugin looks very good; however, it is rather author- oriented. saveStory/openStory macros make beautiful navigation but can be only used in editor mode. I think that user wouldn't need to have the entire save story engine unless it is used on some kind of educational site. Actually, the readOnlyMode saveStory implementation would be the best for this issue. So I guess I can use the txtVisitCount_id cookie to identify whether this is the first visit. Since it's txt, my question is what is the initial value of this. However, I can see it myself when I start to use this. The second part of the Q 3) remains open. Is it true that there's a list of tiddlers to open which is formed using DefaultTiddlers, so I can make a simple plugin which would rewrite this list for the first visit? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw] moveablePanel please reply...
Hi all, hi Eric, hi Mans, I'm still struggling to get moveablePanel/panelmanager to save layouts. See topic http://groups.google.com/group/tiddlywiki/browse_thread/thread/583316179ebece7f#. Mans, you said it works for you in tiddlyspace. I included your moveable.tiddlyspace in my homespace mitchke and destroyed all plugins that i installed before. I also destroyed all my cookies. What happens is this: I can change the layout and save it to DefaultMap. When reloading the page, only the header and sidebarpanels reappear-not the tiddlers in the story apart from GëttingStarted (that's in defaulttiddlers) I cannot save to another map. Saving the layout to 'NewMap' writes the tiddler fine, but tiddlyspace refuses to save it. Saveall doesn't do anything, edit/done the NewMap tiddler neither. The issues in the thread linked to above are also still the same. Saving to DefaultMap or NewMap in a standalone TW works fine, reloading brings an empty page. Could someone please have a look to see if it works for them? Then i would at least know not to bother you all about this again and quietly puzzle till I find my problem.
