Interesting. One thing I do notice (since yesterday) is that the TiddlyFox
popup at load does not appear. TiddlyFox is still installed (I did not
touch it). Could TiddlyFox perhaps communicate/depend on java somehow?

[tw] format tiddler macro output?

I'm hoping for some way, be it via tiddler macro or not, to transclude the
text from a tiddler on the wikified format

**text\n

...but if there is no text, then (or nothing?) should be returned.

And while I'm asking, I would also like to know what attribute(s) to use to

tiddler macro on tw.org http://tiddlywiki.org/#tiddler may give some

Some guesswork: If you put this into any tiddler it will display the hidden

 tiddler {{tiddler.title + ##section}}

 Hey! I didn't bump this thread!

In terms of the code, what I have done so far is to change my strategy. At
first I wanted tiddler... to work inside a template. With some advice
from Eric, I changed it to a macro=tiddler... format.

What I have found so far is that apparently for evaluated expressions {{}}
to work inside of macro= , it needs to use single quotes. And it only
works inside of macro= and nowhere else in the template tiddler.

Also, tiddler.title doesn't work inside the template tiddler. Thus the
long expression

  {{story.findContainingTiddler(place).getAttribute(tiddler)+##SECTION }}

is still required. What I would have liked was to use the name right inside
the ViewTemplate, but as far as I can tell what I had to do instead was
transclude a separate tiddler, passing it the evaluated name to work with.

My overall goal is to create a TiddlyWiki that will allow me to view
receipts stored as PDF's. Ideally I would be able to view the PDF and its
related text side-by-side in a tiddler. I could copy OCR'd text from the
PDF to the corresponding tiddler, and tweak it a bit as needed. This is
mostly working, except that currently I can't float the embedded PDF and
the text side-by-side. They have to be one above the other. I need to work
out details for sub-directories, and for dragging and dropping the PDF's.

This same system would allow me to create photo albums. The TW would work
as an overlay, providing the ability to search and display images. It would
not, of course, actually store the contents of the images.

Thanks,
Mark

[tw] Re: format tiddler macro output?

2013-06-18 Thread Mark S.
If you're trying to process a single line, and not use a plugin like
InlineJavascriptPlugin, then what you can do is:

1) In your generating (display) tiddler, put:

tiddler echoTiddler with: {{
   var stuff=store.getTiddlerText('test2');
   stuff ? **+stuff.split(\n).join(\n**) :  ;
}}

2) Create a support tiddler echoTiddler to return this result. Note that
you can re-use this tiddler.

$1

3) Where it says 'test2', is where you put your tiddler with the list of
objects you wanted formatted with bullets.

Note that this won't automatically update when you change the contents of
'test2'. You have to open and close the generating tiddler.

[tw] Re: format tiddler macro output?

2013-06-18 Thread Mark S.
Take 2.

You can make it even easier to use by creating a tiddler bulletShooter with
these contents:

tiddler echoTiddler with: {{
   var stuff=store.getTiddlerText('$1');
   stuff ? $2+stuff.split(\n).join(\n$2) :  ;
}}

Also make the echoTiddler described previously.

Now you can call bulletShooter like this:

tiddler bulletShooter with: test2 '**'

Where test2 is the name of the tiddler with the text you want to bullet and
'**' is the type of bullet to apply.

Have fun,
Mark

 * propagation for pretty links and image formatters is introduced, meaning
 that included tiddlers will automatically include tiddlers they reference
 from the same TW (reference here means reference by pretty links), and
 images, inserted into included tiddlers, will be corrected so that if one

 I have a aquestion: it is possible to see images that belongs to tiddler
 coming from the included files?

 As for now, there's no dedicated system of handling images, so they
 should work only if the path inside [img[path]] is absolute or it is
 relative but both TWs are in the same folder. If the image is actually
 stored in the tiddler (canvas etc), it should work in any case, although I
 have no experience in using such things. A couple of mechanisms that will
 fix the relative addresses problem are planned, but they are a few versions
 away.

 Hello everybody,

 today I'd like to announce that the public release of SharedTiddlers
 plugin is ready [1].

 In principle, almost everything, including an introduction, can be
 found in the repository.

 In two words: the plugin allows to
 * see tiddlers from another tiddlywikis (as read-only) inside the
 main one
 * share theme components (style sheets, templates: PageTemplate,
 ViewTemplate, EditTemplate, ToolbarCommands) which can be stored in one
 central TW
 * do other things, including sharing evaluated transclusions like
 toggle menus engines from TiddlyTools [2] or custom ones (in fact, most
 of plugins can easily turned into evaluated transclusions, which will be
 described in the documentation later)

 Some major improvements since IncludePlugin [3]:
 * now a set of tiddlers (defined by a filter) can be included instead
 of all tiddlers
 * shadows and tiddlers can be substituted with the included tiddlers
 (they are not altered and if including is switched off, they remain the
 same as they were)
 * a notification system for name conflicts is introduced
 * elements of themes are now applied on load
 * wikifyIncluded macro is introduced (see docs)
 * simple importing engine is added
 * slices are recalculated according to the presence of new tiddlers
 * documentation on how to make plugins include-aware is added (and
 pieces of code that make abego plugins include-aware are removed from the
 main code)

 Feedback is welcome. Though, I'm rather slow in my development, so take
 this into account. Also, if you have some basic questions, please take a
 look at the docs first and let me know if I missed something there.

 Best regards,
 Yakov.

 PS there are some plans for further development including
 * evaluation system for plugins (to remove the need of making evaluated
 transclusions)
 * aggregation tools for analysing data (search and other) among several
 TWs simultaneously (accounting name conflicts)
 but I can't predict how soon I implement this.
