Hi Måns,

For hiding tabs:

I thought of toggling the tag for a 'tab' tiddler.
As an example the 'More' tab in the Sidebar: $:/core/ui/SideBar/More
$:/core/ui/SideBar/More is tagged with $:/tags/SideBar

To toggle hiding/showing the 'More' tab:

1) Tag $:/core/ui/SideBar/More with 'test'

2) Create a tiddler containing:

$list filter=[!has[draft.of]tag[test]!tag[$:/tags/SideBar]sort[created]]

$checkbox tag=$:/tags/SideBarnbsp;nbsp;Check for add 'More'
tab/$checkbox

/$list

$list filter=[!has[draft.of]tag[test]tag[$:/tags/SideBar]sort[created]]

$checkbox tag=$:/tags/SideBarnbsp;nbsp;Uncheck for remove 'More'
tab/$checkbox

/$list

Now you can toggle the $:/tags/SideBar tag on/off with means hiding/showing
the 'More' tab.

Cheers,

Ton

[tw] [tw5] Illegal characters error in field

2014-04-27 Thread Julio Peña
Hello Jeremy and all,

I upgraded my off-line Tiddlywiki to the latest version and so far so good.

However I get this:

Illegal characters in field name source-1. Fields can only contain
lowercase letters and the characters underscore (_), hyphen (-) and period
 (.)

when I type in the field *source-1 *[without quotes]*.* Is that supposed
to happen?
It worked fine in earlier versions.

I tried it in both Chrome and Firefox.

Best regards,

Julio

Re: [tw] [tw5] Illegal characters error in field

2014-04-27 Thread Jeremy Ruston
Hi Julio

The restrictions on legal field names were introduced in 5.0.9:

http://tiddlywiki.com/static/Release%25205.0.9-beta.html

The issue has been discussed before here:

https://groups.google.com/d/topic/tiddlywiki/wCsx-Uy2ahQ/discussion

Given that this issue is tripping people up, we could relax the
restrictions to include digits. The spec doesn't allow digits in HTML
attribute names, but in practice it seems that most browsers are quite
happy with them.

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Re: [tw] Re: TWC - TW not saving \

2014-04-27 Thread skye riquelme
Hi All

Still no joy on this question. I have checked that I am using the latest
version (1.61) of store.php e storeTiddler.php.

But the issue continues. For example recently imported Erics
ImageSizePlugin and also StorySaverPlugin...after copying into an
on-line TW and saving with storeTiddler.phpon re-opening the TW I get
the message that the ImageSize plugin failed..on checking some of the
escape characters \ are missing. StorySaver not so dramatic..on
re-opening the TW it seems to be working finebut when I use the
saveSTory macro...I get a tiddler with a continuous list of tiddlers (on
the same line) with an n between the tiddlersthe plugin should insert
a \n so that each tiddler is on a separate line!
Very Frustrating.

To get around the problemI can download the TW from my server, insert
the required plugin into the local TW, save it, then upload via FTP...in
that case the code is copied true and everything works.

untill a tiddler containing he escape character is again opened and then
saved via storeTiddler.phpnow the plugin (or tiddler containing
javascript that uses \n) fails and I go through the download to
local, correct, save and FTP again.

Super Frustrating!

Any leads? To see thismaybe someone could open my TW
(www.unigaia-brasil.org/Cursos/Temas/arramuTemas.html). on opening it
should work fine.then open ImageSIzePlugin..save it, then
re-openyou´ll see that ImageSize now fails (error - SyntaxError:
unmatched ) in regular expression)

Thanks

As mentioned , everything was working untill I upgraded the php version
on my server from 5.2.3 ...its now 5.4.3. The WAMPP is php 5.4.1 and
 XAMPP
is php 5.5.9. SO, it seems its a question of the newer versions of php
handling the escape characters in a slightly different way. I tried to set
up an old WAMP version (php pre 5.3) but got conflict issues between the
versions..so cant definitely show that its a php version issue.

Anywayanyone understand the changes made in php in the last
upgrades...from about 5.3...to know what changed with regards the escape
sequences..it seems that the UploadPlugin is no longer totally
 compatable with recent php upgrades.

Just noting that the escape character gets lost when the tiddler is
uploaded by UploadPlugin, or UploadTiddlerPlug.but correcting the
rror in a local copy and then ftp'ing the file to the server corrects the
code. a rather cumbersome work-around to the problem!!!

Hi Ton

Great idea :-)

Thank you very much!

I made it a little more generic:

''ToggleTabs (from sidebar)''

$list filter=[tag[hide]!has[draft.of]tag[hide]!tag[$:/tags/SideBar]]
$checkbox tag=$:/tags/SideBarnbsp;nbsp;Show

$list filter=[tag[hide]!has[draft.of]tag[hide]tag[$:/tags/SideBar]]
$checkbox tag=$:/tags/SideBarnbsp;nbsp;Hide
{{!!title}}/$checkboxbr/$list

Now any tab tagged with hide will get a checkbox to toggle if it should
show up in the sidebar.

It would be very nice if it was boiled down to just one checkbox which
would toggle the tag $:/tags/SideBar on all tab tiddlers (tagged with
hide) at once.. Would that be possible somehow?

Re: [tw] tw5 - Field value as image url ?

2014-04-27 Thread Jeremy Ruston
Hi Måns

Are there any plans to let the icon field value accept/use external images
 (via URLs http or file)?

 eg. icon: http://somedomain.com/someimage.png

At the moment, the templates use transclusion for the icon:

https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/blob/master/core/ui/ViewTemplate/title.tid#L14
https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/blob/master/core/ui/TagTemplate.tid#L9

We could switch it to use the $image widget instead, which does
understand how to embed remote image URIs. However, the $image widget
can't display images that are actually wikitext tiddlers containing SVG
tags (eg, $:/core/images/delete-button).

So, as things stand we have a tradeoff:

* Stick with transclusion, allowing us to use images and wikitext images
* Switch to the image widget, losing the ability to use wikitext images

There is a workaround, though: create a stub tiddler representing the
remote image, with the text containing a reference to the remote image (eg
`[img[http://blah.com/blah.jpg]]`. If you give it the tag $:/tags/Image
then it will be recognised by the tag manager as an image and included in
the image dropdowns.

Best wishes

Jeremy

To do this you need to use the raw $image widget:

Re: [tw] tw5 - Field value as image url ?

2014-04-27 Thread Måns
Hi Jeremy

Thank you very much!

That was a very neat trick :-)

Now I have one up my sleeve too :-):

I made a template tiddler TitleImageTemplate tagged it with $:/tags/Image
and wrote this text: $image source={{!!image}} tooltip={{!!title}}/.

This seems to work just how I wanted it to work! (in Chrome - haven't
tested other browsers yet..) - except I still have to choose the icon
manually for all tiddlers which should use the template.

Next thing I'd like to do is to make it work on all tiddlers tagged with
e.g. teacher...

[tw] Re: TW5 - Make it read only permanently

2014-04-27 Thread Ton Gerner
Hi Måns,

On Sunday, April 27, 2014 5:03:41 PM UTC+2, Måns wrote:

 Hi Ton

 Great idea :-)

 Thank you very much!

I made it a little more generic:

 ''ToggleTabs (from sidebar)''

 $list filter=[tag[hide]!has[draft.of]tag[hide]!tag[$:/tags/SideBar]]
 $checkbox tag=$:/tags/SideBarnbsp;nbsp;Show
 {{!!title}}/$checkboxbr/$list
 $list filter=[tag[hide]!has[draft.of]tag[hide]tag[$:/tags/SideBar]]
 $checkbox tag=$:/tags/SideBarnbsp;nbsp;Hide
 {{!!title}}/$checkboxbr/$list

Now any tab tagged with hide will get a checkbox to toggle if it should
 show up in the sidebar.

Nice, I have just implemented it this way in my Read-only demo.

It would be very nice if it was boiled down to just one checkbox which
would toggle the tag $:/tags/SideBar on all tab tiddlers (tagged with
hide) at once.. Would that be possible somehow?

I think it must be possible, but at the moment I have no idea how to do
that.
On the other hand, I like the idea of doing it per tab.
For sure, it depends upon what you want to hide.
In many cases the 'More' tab will be the first tab to hide.
In case you want the ability to switch themes and/or views, you need the
'Tools' tab. And in case of 'Zoomin' view the 'Open' tab is almost required.
The 'Recent' tab can be handy as well in some cases.

Cheers,

Ton

 Hi Måns,

 For hiding tabs:

I thought of toggling the tag for a 'tab' tiddler.
As an example the 'More' tab in the Sidebar: $:/core/ui/SideBar/More
 $:/core/ui/SideBar/More is tagged with $:/tags/SideBar

To toggle hiding/showing the 'More' tab:

 1) Tag $:/core/ui/SideBar/More with 'test'

 2) Create a tiddler containing:

 $list
 filter=[!has[draft.of]tag[test]!tag[$:/tags/SideBar]sort[created]]

 $checkbox tag=$:/tags/SideBarnbsp;nbsp;Check for add 'More'
 tab/$checkbox

 /$list

 $list
 filter=[!has[draft.of]tag[test]tag[$:/tags/SideBar]sort[created]]

 $checkbox tag=$:/tags/SideBarnbsp;nbsp;Uncheck for remove 'More'
 tab/$checkbox

 /$list

Now you can toggle the $:/tags/SideBar tag on/off with means
 hiding/showing the 'More' tab.

 Cheers,

 Ton

[tw] Re: What *IS* Tiddlywiki?

2014-04-27 Thread Smandoli
My own summary sounds a bit different, because it is not about finding the
place of TW in a taxonomy of software. What I tell people is the benefits
are *(A) *non-linear organization for your content and* (B)* rapid,
transparent creation of content. I tell them, If I had to publish a
non-fiction book in a month, I'd start a TW today.

*Non-linear organization:* You are creating a mind map. If you provide
tags with all your content, you'll be rewarded with connections and
clusters beyond your expectations. (I am still dreaming day-and-night of
the plug-in that will graphically render a mind-map.)

*Rapid creation of content:* I gave a demo of TW last week and told my
friend, You just pick a topic, but make sure it's one you're ready to
think about -- because I can build the wiki only as fast as you can talk!

I used to also tout *(C)* portability, before the browser tribulations.

[tw] Issues when upgrading 5.0.6-beta to 5.0.10-beta

2014-04-27 Thread Sky Diver
Greetings,

1. When trying to upgrade 5.0.6-beta to 5.0.10-beta, the first issue was
that the wiki's title is not imported, rather remains the default one.

2. Next, I noticed that my TOD tiddly is not showing up correctly.

Here's the code:
$list filter=[tags[]sort[title]]
  !! $view field=title/
  ul
$list filter=[is[current]tagging[]] +[sort[title]]
/$list
  /ul
/$list

Now, I can't recall if I had to import some special plugin for it. I think
it runs with the built-in functionality.

In 5.0.6-beta it shows a tag title and then a title-list of all tiddler of
this tag, but in 5.0.10-beta it just shows plain text of the title with
leading !!, e.g.:

*!! Title A!! Title B!! Title C*

I'm kinda worried about all the stuff that are not popping into my eyes
when I launch the wiki, so for the meantime I'll remain on 5.0.6-beta.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

One more thing:
If I paste the below Tw5mall code variation into 5.0.6-beta, I will see
correct counters for all tags.
But if I paste it into 5.0.10-beta, the counters are 0 for all simple (?)
tags (meaning: tags that I didn't manipulate in any way, e.g. by changing
their color).

 https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/tiddlywiki/TW5$20tagmenu/tiddlywiki/XxLT8zJqHYM/5dKWcxFFAAAJ
  The
problem with count= 0 was solved for TagMenu changing
 [is[current]tagging[]]
 to
 [all[current]tagging[]]

Trying that I do see count working, but it looks messy.

OK, this is reproducible in an empty 5.0.10-beta file.
Create a few tiddlies and tags, and then create a new tiddly and paste
either code into it to see the effect:

 $list filter=[tags[]sort[title]]

   !! $view field=title/
   ul$list filter=[is[current]tagging[]] +[sort[title]]

 /$list/ul

 /$list

 OR

 span class=threecolumns
  $list filter=[tags[]sort[title]] -[is[system]]
 itemClass=tw-menu-list-item
  $transclude tiddler=$:/core/ui/TagTemplate/ small class=
 tw-menu-list-count$count filter=[is[current]tagging[]]//small
  /$list
 /span
