Another thing is that if you delete the tiddlerformat and save the tiddler - the deletion won't get saved - unless you've made other changes to the tiddler content.. I've just fixed this problem and uploaded a new prerelease to http://tw5test.tiddlyspot.com. If it all looks well I'll release later today or tomorrow morning, Best wishes Jeremy. Could it be that, if you open a tiddler as a wizard, which is too big, you can't close it anymore? Try on tiddlywiki.com to open HelloThere with a wizar-button and the close button will be out of reach. Do you have any suggestions how I can split the table in TW5 so I can inspect and compare a few number of clusters at the time? Something along the lines of a Tab but with several active tabs. I suppose the RevealWidget would be in place here, but as far as I can tell, I would have to have each cluster as an individual tiddler. With 144 clusters in this table, in maybe more in others, this is something I would like to avoid. I could probably write some code which would put out the appropriate HTML and paste this into the tw.html-file, but I find this a bit messy too. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. [tw] Re: [TW5] Split long table
First of all I'd replace the |:: lines with an empty line. That way each cluster would be a table of its own. But that wouldn't help too much, would it? I'm wondering how you get the automatically generated in R stuff in to your Wiki. If it's automatical, it should be not to complicated to change the generated .tid file (f you do that) to several and have an additional which merges them. Or maybe you can put, as you suggested, reveal widgets around each cluster so that you can enter the names(?) of those clusters you want to see. Maybe you have some working example to play around with? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. Hi Matabele I think in your use case you would want a variable as the name of the data tiddler -- so references might look something like {{$gender$##gender1}}, where the variable takes the value 'male' or 'female' as appropriate. [tw] Re: [TW5] Help needed! (related to Matabele's $setfield and $maketid plugins)
Hi Danielo, Matabele and all, I dit it! It is now possible to create books, papers and their quotes with the right formatting, automatically! Using several layers of macro calls, I found the way to manipulate strings in relation with the number of authors. You can see the results here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ypwz055jb44ps2/Apuntes%20diversos%20-%20TW%205.0.12.html It is not finished, and I'm waiting for 5.0.13 to use the filter operator `listed[myfield]` to adapt the fields in use, but it is quite usable now. The plan is to release something that everyone can use to organize readings, comments, thoughts, etc. Thanks for your help. I presume TW5 is the better option, but a working 4.x would be fine. Firefox 30.0, Windows 7. When I open empty.html online here: http://tiddlywiki.com/empty.html The cog buttons work. Once I've downloaded it though: (Menu Save Page) the buttons no longer do, with the exception of the advanced search button, which does. TiddlyFox seems to be installed in the FF add-ons. [tw] [TW5] Node.js vs. single HTML
Hello list, What are the advantages of running the tiddlywiki as a node.js app rather than a single file? Other than the wiki is being run as a server and can be accessed from outside. Are there any performance advantages? I am particularly thinking about memory usage: are the tid-files in the node.js read as needed or are they all read in at start up, making it not much different from the single HTML file variant? I am interested, because it seems I will be generating a large file - for now it is just 3mb, but when I add some long tables, it may become close to 10mb. And I will keep adding. I have seen posts that tiddlywiki starts to slow down dramatically at some point (20mb if my memory serves me well). Is there any way to avoid that? Thanks for any comments. Re: [tw] [TW5] Struggling with import automation and certain tiddler names
It sounds like you are building the standalone HTML file including the tiddlyweb plugin; that causes TW to try to talk to the server at startup, hence the 404s. The answer is to build the wiki without the tiddlyweb plugin (ie, edit tiddlywiki.info to remove the reference to it). [tw] [TW5] Hosting my own on Ubuntu box - a guide?
The moment I came across TW5 I was excited about the possibilities of having my own to build and store information. I am beginning to learn how to manage my own server with a Digital Ocean droplet running Ubuntu 14.04. I currently have it setup with nginx and iptables serving a couple small static sites I am playing around with. *I would like to getting my own TW5 instance running on this box that I can then access from a domain name and manage from anywhere and keep backed up. * *Is this currently a feasible thing to do? Are there any comprehensive guides to doing it?* Or am I really overdoing things and I should keep it simple with Drive/Dropbox syncing? I have node.js and tiddlywiki installed, I can start a server but not sure how to make it publicly visible. Sorry if these are all very basic questions, I did a little searching through the group but did not find anything really basic enough. Thanks for your time! [tw] [TWC] Is it possible to use GridPlugin with numeric slices names?
I have a database of characters, and I'm using slices to store background information grouped by year. Using GridPlugin I've built a simple grid which shows a 5 year block. The idea is that each column shows one year of the 5, and each row is a person who had something happen in one of those 5 years (see tiddlers at the end of this post). Eventually, there should be four of these grids, showing 20 or so years of background, with each block of five years only showing characters appearing in that period. So far, I have two problems though. Firstly, the column names are missing from the header, and I'm not sure if it is something to do with the names I'm using that causes them to be missing, so are there any hidden restrictions on slice names in TiddlyWiki classic v2.6.5 or GridPlugin 2.0.7? This may be related to the fact that the hide/show headers toggle does nothing to example grids at http://www.tiddlytools.com/#GridPluginInfo with Firefox 30.0. The next problem is that even without the 'all' modifier, my grid is currently showing everyone, even those characters who had no activities in any of the years selected. I can't see what I'm doing wrong here, so any help would be appreciated. If it makes any difference, these ExampleDatabase tiddlers also have FormTiddler and DataTiddler sections. Alternatively, is there any other way to do what I'm after, or something similar. I was thinking that one option might be to create a forEachTiddler per year, and render this as a list , grouped by year, rather than as a table, but I can't see how I would do this as a single forEach or how I might go about nesting one forEach inside another to do this in one go.
