[tw] Re: will D3.js plugin be upgraded to version 4.x ?

2018-03-30 Thread TonyM
Silverfox,

I see great potential for this because TiddlyWiki can be used to represent
many things, and new visualisations of what ever your tiddlywiki represents
are valuable. This is especially true if it helps navigate real content.

Looking good.

Inclusions such as a field "bubble-caption" for custom titles when
displayed as a bubble, or using the color field or icon specified in the
tiddler representing the piece of data would be nice and quite simple to
use?

Tony

[tw] Re: Tiddler Movable

2018-03-30 Thread TonyM
Del

There is a very similar method already built into TiddlyWiki, this is on
the tiddler view toolbar, most likely under More, "Open in New Window"

The resulting new windows do not stay within the browser tab which means
they can be placed anywhere on your screens, great for multi-screen setups,
and they can drive what occurs in the home tab, so open a TableOfContents
tiddler in a new window is very helpful.

If you want a more structured card layout try muri or muuri test /
tiddlyTouch which is not opening as of writing this
response http://muritest.tiddlyspot.com/

What would be ideal is if we could control and display the items opened in
a new window a bit like we can in your TWC example.

[tw] Re: History: Is TiddlyWiki A Card-Index System?

2018-03-30 Thread TonyM
Josiah,

"Yes, but", - That is my answer to the question asked.

The but comes in because it can be A Card-Index System or more. Most
algorithms, such as the card-index can be implemented in TiddlyWiki but
they can go way beyond, and any algorithm can be developed with continuous
improvement. This is a key reason I have committed to TiddlyWiki as my
platform of choice. Algorithms that have stood the test of time, have being
refined by practice and wisdom are very good starting points. In fact I
moved to TiddlyWiki in the early days to escape the limitations of a
sophisticated personal information and task management system that was on
paper, yet really powerful.

Great!
I want more!!!
More displays like this and a little more explanation: Where does the

I would love to use something like this as a table of content: It would

[tw] Re: Possible? Buttons to hide/show activate/deactivate some things on Wiki

2018-03-30 Thread 'Surya' via TiddlyWiki
Hello Jed,

I managed now to have all show/hide things by adding/removing tags with
this one checkbox :-)

But: That tags that checkbox-tiddler himself with that tags. Why? How can
avoid that behaviour?

And I couldn't bring it to work with the changing the text of some tiddlers.

I have written it like this now- what is wrong?
<$button class='tc-btn-invisible'>
 <$reveal type='match'
state='$:/config/ViewToolbarButtons/Visibility/$:/core/ui/Buttons/edit'
text='hide'>

<$button class='tc-btn-invisible'>
 <$reveal type='match'
state='$:/config/ViewToolbarButtons/Visibility/$:/core/ui/Buttons/clone'
text='hide'>

  <$fieldmangler tiddler="$:/core/ui/SideBar/More">
   <$action-sendmessage $message='tm-add-tag' $param="$:/tags/SideBar"/>

  <$fieldmangler tiddler="+Neuer Tiddler von Vorlagen (Menu)">
   <$action-sendmessage $message='tm-add-tag'
$param="$:/tags/mymenusTopRightBar"/>

  <$fieldmangler tiddler="Tiddlerfuß Menu">
   <$action-sendmessage $message='tm-add-tag'
$param="$:/tags/mymenusfooter"/>

  <$action-setfield
$tiddler='$:/config/ViewToolbarButtons/Visibility/$:/core/ui/Buttons/edit'
text='show'/>

 <$reveal type='nomatch'
state='$:/config/ViewToolbarButtons/Visibility/$:/core/ui/Buttons/edit'
text='hide'>

  <$action-setfield
$tiddler='$:/config/ViewToolbarButtons/Visibility/$:/core/ui/Buttons/clone'
text='show'/>

 <$reveal type='nomatch'
state='$:/config/ViewToolbarButtons/Visibility/$:/core/ui/Buttons/clone'
text='hide'>

  <$fieldmangler tiddler="$:/core/ui/SideBar/More">
   <$action-sendmessage $message='tm-remove-tag' $param="$:/tags/SideBar"/>

  <$fieldmangler tiddler="+Neuer Tiddler von Vorlagen (Menu)">

$param="$:/tags/mymenusTopRightBar"/>

  <$fieldmangler tiddler="Tiddlerfuß Menu">

$param="$:/tags/mymenusfooter"/>

  <$action-setfield
$tiddler='$:/config/ViewToolbarButtons/Visibility/$:/core/ui/Buttons/edit'
text='hide'/>

  <$action-setfield
$tiddler='$:/config/ViewToolbarButtons/Visibility/$:/core/ui/Buttons/edit'
text='hide'/>

And I don't know how to build and integrate this one:
<$checkbox tiddler="Mehrfach-Aktionen Menu für die Sidebar"
field="menu-item-4" checked="{{$:/core/ui/Buttons/control-panel}}"
unchecked=" " default=" "> "Control-Panel" im Mehrfach-Aktionen-Menu der
TopRightBar anzeigen

Could you please explain?
Thanks! Surya

[tw] Re: Questions for enabling/disabling-button for plugin tobibeer.github.io/tw5-plugins/#preview

2018-03-30 Thread 'Surya' via TiddlyWiki
Hello Jed,

thanks for your suggestion :-)
I made it now with this:
<$button class='tc-btn-invisible tooltip'>
<$reveal type='match' state='$:/plugins/tobibeer/preview/defaults/exclude'
text='[all[tiddlers]]'>
@@background:orange;No Preview?@@
<$action-setfield $tiddler='$:/plugins/tobibeer/preview/defaults/exclude'
text='[is[system]] [all[shadows]] [!has[text]]'/>

<$reveal type='nomatch'
state='$:/plugins/tobibeer/preview/defaults/exclude' text='[all[tiddlers]]'>
@@background:lightgreen;No
Preview?@@
<$action-setfield $tiddler='$:/plugins/tobibeer/preview/defaults/exclude'
text='[all[tiddlers]]'/>

That's better now than before, because it shows more visible the state.
I changed the states, because checking should mean disabling.
I couldn't manage to change the color with div style. So I tried it with
@@background@@.
It works, but doesn't look really nice...
And also the "No Preview?" is still only shown by mouse-over the tooltip. I
think, it's not possible to show "No Preview?" inside the box.
Because of that I still would like more to have a button which shows the
text "No Preview?".

Is it possible?
Surya

[tw] Re: Is there a way to pass <$count> (or similar) to Evan's <> for calculation?

2018-03-30 Thread Jed Carty
Wow, I missed a lot of new things. I wasn't aware of the count operator. To
give some examples of what Mat is talking about here is how you would use
it to get an input to a macro (copy and paste this into a tiddler on
tiddlywiki.com to see what the two methods do):

\define DoSomething()
The filter counted $(number)$ tiddlers
\end

\define DoSomethingElse(number)
The filter counted $number$ tiddlers
\end

!!Method 1 - Substitution

<$list filter='[tag[HelloThere]count[]]' variable='number'>
<>

!!Method 2 - Macrocall widget

<$list filter='[tag[HelloThere]count[]]' variable='number'>
<$macrocall $name=DoSomethingElse number=<>/>

As Matthew Lauber said, you can also use a set widget to make the
variables, I just like the list widgets for some reason.

[tw] Re: Possible? Buttons to hide/show activate/deactivate some things on Wiki

2018-03-30 Thread Jed Carty
This is pretty much the same answer as I gave on the other thread, but the
same idea works. You put in two action-setfield widgets for each thing you
want to change, one to turn it off and one to turn it on. The states are
separated by reveal widgets. I have an example showing how to add/remove a
tag and to change a field because they are different, but you will have to
add all the different things you want to toggle. You can put as many things
as you want, put everything for the 'off' state in the first reveal widget
and everything for the 'on' state in the second one.

<$button class='tc-btn-invisible'>
 <$reveal type='match' state='$:/plugins/tobibeer/preview/defaults/exclude'
text='[all[tiddlers]]'>

  <$fieldmangler tiddler="$:/core/ui/SideBar/More">

I think that the best way to do that is to make a button that looks like a
checkbox like this:

<$button class='tc-btn-invisible tooltip'>

text='[all[tiddlers]]'>

 Preview
Deaktivieren?
<$action-setfield $tiddler='$:/plugins/tobibeer/preview/defaults/exclude'
text='[all[tiddlers]]'/>

The two reveal widgets change what the button does depending on the state.
This is how you make something like a checkbox that can do more than just
the normal checkbox actions. You can put a div inside it and style the div
to make change more about it also.

[tw] Is there a way to pass <$count> (or similar) to Evan's <> for calculation?

2018-03-30 Thread hubertgk
Well, I know it's not really possible because <$count> is not a function.
But I was hoping that someone found a way, perhaps using javascript, to
count tiddlers based on a filter and then pass that number as a parameter
to a macro.

I'd be very grateful for suggestions and, again, thank you for your time
and help!

Best regards,
Hubert

Hello Mat,

I guessed, it could be possible to combine them all in only one checkbox

If I am wrong with that, I would of course try to make it with your plugin

But I have no idea how to combine the commands.
I couldn't find any example on your plugin-page...

Could you please explain it? Or build an example on your page?
Thanks! Surya

[tw] Re: Questions for enabling/disabling-button for plugin tobibeer.github.io/tw5-plugins/#preview

2018-03-30 Thread 'Surya' via TiddlyWiki
Hi Evolena,

ahh, great :-)
I did it now with (and the tag $:/tags/TopRightBar):

<$checkbox tiddler="$:/plugins/tobibeer/preview/defaults/exclude"
field="text" checked="[all[tiddlers]]" unchecked="[is[system]]
[all[shadows]] [!has[text]]" default="[is[system]] [all[shadows]]
[!has[text]]"> Preview Deaktivieren?

and it works perfect- without saving/reloading :-))

Now I'd like to make the state more visible for others.
Means: I would like to have a button for this.
It should show "Preview?" and should turn green, when the preview is
enabled and should turn red, when preview is disabled.
Maybe it has to have a checkbox inside it- clicking the button means
clicking the checkbox?
Or is it better to make it without checkbox inside, but sending messages?
If sending messages is better, how should I write that?
It should be only ONE button.

Do you know what I try to explain?

But now for the first: A great thank you!!
Surya

2018-03-30 Thread Jed Carty
And because it is almost certainly going to be the next suggestion,
disabling the part that lets it run shell scripts isn't enough to make it
safe. Someone could still get into the wiki do whatever they want, and
possibly install a javascript plugin in the wiki that, while it would only
take effect after the server part is restarted, could do whatever they want
it to do.

With proper authentication than you can avoid a lot of these problems, but
I don't know of any authentication methods that I would trust enough to use
like that. This is different than a normal server where you can use https
and have signed certificates to help with the authentication and security.

2018-03-30 Thread Jed Carty
The downside is that anyone on the network can access the wiki. So if you
have it on your laptop and go to starbucks and use their wifi than everyone
there can use tiddlywiki to run shell commands on your computer.

After I get security and authentication set up than I may consider making
it server on 0.0.0.0 by default, but it is always very risky behaviour.

Someone who knows what they are doing could get access to everything on
your computer and set it up so that your computer can be accessed remotely
any time you are on wifi. So it is not going to be the default setting now,
and probably never will be.

2018-03-30 Thread Jed Carty
I considered that but while It is nice to have the available wikis directly
available at the top but it becomes an accessibility issue because it puts
fixed content under dynamic content. When you have no wikis than the add
wiki interface is at the top and easily visible, but if you add enough
wikis than it won't be visible when you open the tab.

I think that a workable solution is to also put the list in a sidebar tab
like a table of contents. You can transclude the a copy of the list
anywhere you want by putting {{$:/plugins/OokTech/MultiUser/Wiki Listing}}
in a tiddler.

Request ... change prefix "[tw]" to "[tw5]" for email to this Google Group

2018-03-30 Thread @TiddlyTweeter
Google emails to this group are currently prefixed [tw]. As far as I
understand it TWC now has it own group and here is principally for TW5.

IMO the small step to prefixing posts closest to the version under

experience in knowing what is under discussion.

Excellent! Its close to a tutorial without being one.

I think the extra information is well worth having in the basic
documentation.

I'm more sceptical when you example through checkboxes that *change

THE documentation DOCUMENT that might have confusing side effects left
switched off. Just MO.
