[tw5] Re: Is there a way to make the fa icon in the title?

2020-09-08 Thread TW Tones
Eric

I for one installed all the icons into a bobserver wiki i call resources
for offline access to icons and much more useful content. Taking it offline
also allows you to add additional keywords about what you use the given
icon for.or even record where you use it. When the next version is released
svg can be used as the favicon so in your own repository you can record the
wiki that uses it as the favicon, its branding.

Otherwise i agree, it is ideal for lookup icons on demand.

[tw5] Imported image/file not showing link to newly created tiddler?

2020-09-08 Thread Logan Chin
Hello,

Usually, after importing a file, a direct link to the imported file will
show up on the story stream. For me, it just says "import," and no link is
attached (see screenshots). Anyone know what went wrong?

Thanks

Why copy ALL 1537 SVG images into your document? Why not just use
http://fa5-free-svg.tiddlyspot.com/ as intended by it's creator? In other
words, just go to the site when you need some images and, as instructed on
that page, use the "Batch Import" interface to select images (drag-and-drop
images into the box provided in the sidebar) and then press the "export"
button to create a JSON file.

If you want the entire set available when you are offline, you can download
the entire file from tiddlyspot, by using
http://fa5-free-svg.tiddlyspot.com/download

[tw5] Re: Advice for new TW5 user regarding line breaks

2020-09-08 Thread Hubert
Hi BhKh,

Welcome back to the world of TiddlyWiki! :)

> I wonder if you could just try to pick one? :-) Lets say I'm going to
paste twenty lines of text into a tiddler from a word document. Each line
is (as is standard) on it's own line. How can I make them appear on their
own lines

A simple and quick way that I use when I need to paste something from
anywhere else and preserve the original line breaks is wrap my content in
three double quotes, like here:

"""
This is my content. This is the first line.
This is the second line.

This is the fourth line (note the third line is blank)
"""

When you save your tiddler you will see that the rendered tiddler looks
exactly like your input (the draft), except the quotes.

As Tony said, there are many ways to implement this, many of which may be
programmatic etc. By contrast, the above way is just a quick and simple
solution that you can use right away.

Hope this helps.

Enjoy!
Hubert

2020-09-08 Thread TW Tones
Zhe,

This is all about the size and number of your images. SVG and icons usually
don't add much, if you use photos, png jpeg compressed images and keep
their size down you can go a long way.

However it all depends on if its single file wiki, or node version or if
you can use the method to externalise them (via canonical URL) or use
skinny tiddlers, and how many you include.

Tiddlywiki can handle large volumes of images but you have to implement it
according to the volume and size of YOUR images. This is also unavoidable
on any website.

Regards
Tony
