[tw5] Re: Editor access vs View Access

2020-04-20 Thread pedruchini
Hi Yoni.
I'm just a user and I use the following method:
1) Download an empty TiddlyWiki from https://tiddlywiki.com/#GettingStarted
2) You also need a mechanism to save your wiki. I use Timimi (but there are
other ways to save your wiki): https://github.com/ibnishak/Timimi
3) Now you can edit your wiki in your browser (I use Firefox) and save it
to your hard drive and use it off-line.
4) But if you want your wiki to be on-line, I think the simplest way is by
using http://tiddlyspot.com/
5) To make your wiki readonly you need a plugin from
http://tongerner.tiddlyspot.com/#Read-only
6) I edit my wikis with Firefox, buy I upload them to tiddlyspot with
Chrome/Chromium after setting a password (sidebar > tools > set password).
I hope I can help you.

Best wishes

Pedro

You can use the caption field instead of the alias field by modifying

[tw5] Re: Single line break query

2019-11-03 Thread pedruchini
Hi,

This is what I do in all my wikis:

I put this in a tiddler tagged $:/tags/Stylesheet

dl dt {
   font-weight: normal;
   margin-top: 0px;
}

Then, instead of

"""
one
two
three
"""

I write:

;one
;two
;three

And instead of

"""
one
two
three

four
"""

I write

;one
;two
;three
>
;four

In other words, I changed the behaviour of ";" (term).

In case I need:

;term
:definition

I write

;''term''
:definition

This is not very elegant, I know, but it works for me. Of course, Tony, your
solution (the leading period [.]) would be an improvement.

2019-10-28 Thread pedruchini
Hi all

Here is the method I use:

I have two stylesheets:

   - One for a "dark mode" → $:/DARK
   - Another one for a "sepia mode" → $:/SEPIA

In the sidebar tab more > system $:/SEPIA must be placed after $:/DARK.
Then, in a tiddler, ...

<$radio tiddler="$:/SEPIA" field="tags" value="">dark mode

<$radio tiddler="$:/SEPIA" field="tags" value="$:/tags/Stylesheet">sepia
mode

2 Questions:
1. This method works for me for two stylesheets but I don't know how to add
a third stylesheet.
2. In both methods (this one and Mark's StyleSwapper), how can I get rid of
the annoying message: "This page is asking you to confirm that you want to
leave: data you have entered may not be saved".

That dotted line is very annoying when I'm using Thomas Elmiger's details

[tw5] Re: Creating similar tabs sections for individual tiddlers

2019-07-16 Thread pedruchini
Tony,

Here is my use case (simplified). I'm teaching a foreign language and...

for the tiddler 'Adverbs' I would like to have three tabs:

Beginners - Intermediate - advanced

Now, since the students who are consulting this tiddlywiki are at
intermediates's level I would like the tab 'intermediate' be selected by
default.

The other two tabs allow these students to brush up on their beginners
level o to extend their knowledge to the advanced level, but the main tab
should be 'Intermediate'. That's why it would be nice to have a tab
selected by default.
As for states, in the tiddler '$:/core/ui/ViewTemplate/title' I added this:

<$action-deletetiddler $filter="[prefix[$:/state/]]"

to clear all states (in fact I created a second 'close botton' to 'close
and clear all states').

Therefore, it won't use the last selected tab, but the default tab.

Birthe,
Thanks for your quick answer. I tried Firefox 57 and Firefox ESR on Windows
and an old version with Tiddlyfox on Lubuntu (linux) with no success. A few
minutes ago I tried the following (also with no success):

1) Saved http://tablinks-ff.tiddlyspot.com/ (the plugin version for
Firefox) to my computer. Clicked on the tab On/Off, and on the toggle
button, I click on and off, but in both cases nothing happens (the plugin
is active and I can't disable it).

2) I did the same with http://tablinks.tiddlyspot.com/ (the plugin version
for Chrome) and it worked (I can disable the plugin).

I wonder what am I doing wrong.

I know there is also Mario's
https://wikilabs.github.io/editions/link-to-tabs/ but it's not exactly the
same.

Hi, Rob,
Newbie here. As I'm using TW in the french language, I'd like to have a
different list of "ignored words" . Is that possible ? Which tiddler should
I edit ?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you, Ton.

Your guides are very useful: http://tongerner.tiddlyspot.com

Now I will try to modify other elements, just for fun.

Cheers,

[tw] How do I modify the wikitex syntax for definitions (semicolon) ?

2016-08-30 Thread 'pedruchini' via TiddlyWiki
Would it be possible to modify the semicolon markup (for definitions) so
that it renders in normal letters insted of bold letter?

When you write this:

;term
:definition

what you get is this:

term
definition

But what I want is this:

term
definition

I would like to change the behavior of the semicolon for my whole TW, so I
suppose I have to modify a core tiddler.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Thomas

Thanks for your quick reply. I some cases the id of TextStretch is an
advantage, but not in my use case, I don't mind if it also deletes search
states and tab states.

2016-07-17 Thread 'pedruchini' via TiddlyWiki
Based on Mabalele's post
(https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/tiddlywiki/F_laLj-y5lk), I found
two solutions

<$button>
<$action-deletetiddler $filter="[search:title[$:/state/]]"/>
clear

and

<$button>
<$action-deletetiddler $filter="[prefix[$:/state/]]"/>
clear

I pasted one on these on top of the tiddler and it works. But, is it safe
to do that? Any side effect? Which ones of this two solutions is better?

Let's suppose several contents are displayed at the same time.
Now, I need to hide them in one click, instead of clicking on every label.

Is it possible to create a "clear" button or something that hides all the
contents ?

If the contents remain displayed when I close the tiddler, the next time I
open that tiddler the contents appear displayed. Even if I close my whole
TW or Firefox, when reopened, Firefox remembers that the contents were
displayed.

I find stretchText very useful and
with a "clear" or "refresh" button it would be perfect.
