[tw5] right-align edit-text
Hi all, Small question. How can I right-align the input in an edit-text widget ? I use it in a table and I want to input a number so it right-aligns with the numbers above and below. The other numbers are partly calculated from the input in that row and I can right-align those with a space right after the pipe symbol in the Wikitext. [tw5] Re: Concentrichron: a clock and calendar made of concentric rings
Absolutely stunning! Suggestion: make the hour ring stand out in some way and make the marks between the hours a bit thicker. This makes it easier to use the Concentrichon as an analog clock. [tw5] Combination of space in title, select widget and listed operator
Hi all, I am working on an administration TW for a repair shop. I have items and fixers. An item has a field 'fixer' with the name of the fixer assigned to it. The fixer template has a line of code like this <> in order to display the items he/she is working on. Apart from this, I want to be able to assign a fixer to an item by selecting the name with a select widget in the item tiddler. All of this works allright if the fixer's name (tiddler title) is just one word. But if it has more words, the items are not displayed in that fixer's tiddler. I tried several options in the fixer field: 'Little Joe' [Little Joe] [[Little Joe]] "Little Joe" but to no avail. I also tried putting the fixer's name in the list field, and using the enlist operator in the filter for the select widget, and some more approaches. But none of these do the job. How can I make this work? Greetings, Sjaak -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw5] Re: named links in TiddlyDesktop
Hi Tony, Thanks for the reply. I tried installing timimi but it does not work on a Mac. I also tried typing raw html in the source tiddler text ('' etc.) but even this did not make TiddlyDesktop pass the '#mytiddler' bit to the browser. Do I have to escape the #-sign in some way? As you said, TiddlyDesktop opens links to folders in the file explorer (Finder on a Mac). I like this better than the browser behaviour (open folder links, like any other file link, in a new browser tab, where you can hardly do anything useful). I still would like TiddlyDesktop to open links into other TW's in another TiddlyDesktop window. And also pass the name bit of the URL, of course... [tw5] named links in TiddlyDesktop
Hi all, I use several TW's in TiddlyDesktop, all in the same directory, and sometimes I want to make a link from a tiddler in one TW to a tiddler in another. Is it possible to automatically open the second TW in TiddlyDesktop? Or jump to it if already open? As a workaround up till now, i just insert file links like 'file://..path../TWx.html' which then open in a browser. But TiddlyDesktop does not pass attached names (like TWx.html#mytiddler) to the browser, so it is not possible to link directly to a specific tiddler. This seems like a bug in TiddlyDesktop, because those links do work if the source TW runs in the browser instead of in TiddlyDesktop. [tw5] Re: Confused about character interpretation
Thanks a lot for your clarifications! I gather that in case of confusion I should look for a widget I can use instead of the abbreviation constructions built into WikiText. [tw5] Confused about character interpretation
Hi all, I keep bumping into the same problem: the characters I use in coding, especially the various kind of brackets (including quotes), are not interpreted the way I think they will be. This keeps confusing me. Is this documented clearly somewhere? Where (and why) are some brackets interpreted as one thing, and where as another, or not at all as something special? To start with: why are double square brackets used for both 1) a link to a tiddler, 2) keeping a string with spaces in it together? On several occasions I used them for the second purpose and saw a link appearing where I did not want one. I will give a small example here. This is meant to show what confuses me, not a plea to solve this little problem for me. I have a number of small text tiddlers that are transcluded in larger tiddlers. Now I want to start the transcluded version with the title in 2-level header, followed by the text 'src' in superscript, that links to the text tiddler itself (the source, hence 'src'). This makes it easy for me to jump to the source tiddler if I want to change the text. So I defined a macro: \define srct() !!{{!!title}}^^[[src|{{!!title}}]]^^ \end and put <> as first (non-define) line of the small tiddler. I hope this is all clear. The macro call produces the title header all right, followed by 'src' in superscript, but the link on 'src' is not interpreted and goes to the string "{{!!title}}". ??? Why doesn't TW fill in the actual title there? Confused, Sjaak -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group. [tw5] Re: How to use the same tag with different meanings based on other tags?
Aha, this can probably help me in creating subject tags vs. generic tags (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/tiddlywiki/FkpTfAFlZC0/6_3a6D4QBgAJ;context-place=topic/tiddlywiki/qgSSprU3-f8). [tw5] subject tags vs. generic tags
Hi all, I am currently using one TW to take notes about a lot of different subjects. Each tiddler on a subject gets a tag with that subject, like 'Solar panels'. But I also want to use some more generic tags that can be applied to tiddlers on any subject, like 'Developments' or 'Information Sources'. I would like to create tag pills called f.i. 'Developments' that only lists tiddlers that have a specific subject tag as well (i.e. the subject of the tiddler the tag pill is placed in). How can I do that? Hi Mario, Thanks a bunch! This solved my problem (and probably some I had not noticed yet). I imported my own content and some innocent-looking system tiddlers. [tw5] Re: Tiddler width and sidebar position
Hi Ed, Changing the sidebar layout to 'Fluid story, fixed sidebar' fixed the first problem, thanks! But the sidebar still behaves strangely. It tries to be as low on the screen as possible, depending on what it displays. But when I click f.i. the 'recent' tab the head of the sidebar moves upward out of view (because the column with recent tiddlers is so long). I can not reach other tabs and I also can not scroll (moving the scrollbar only scrolls the story river). Is this also caused by the 'fixed sidebar' option? These problems did not occur in 5.0.12-beta, where I could not tweak the sidebar layout. [tw5] Tiddler width and sidebar position
Hi all, I updated from 5.0.12-beta to 5.1.15, but now the tiddlers take up the whole width of the screen, so the sidebar disappears behind them. Also the sidebar is positioned too far to the bottom of the screen. How can I change the standard tiddler width and sidebar position? At the moment my experience with TW is content-only (tiddlers, links, tags) but I want to dig deeper in the possibilities. Thanks in advance!
