I've been using TW5 to index a couple of thousand scans I have of microfilms from familysearch.org and the LDS. What I've done is taken various common layouts of these birth, marriage and death records, and created view & edit template-Tiddlers. These allow you to enter one record entry per Tiddler, in a fixed and standardized format. Each field is then a Tiddler field which you can search/filter on.
