I started trying to find if there was a programming reference for the Furuno GPS board it uses...and also failed there too. :( Oh well... thanks much, ben ___ time-nuts mailing list -- time-nuts@febo.com To unsubscribe, go to https://www.febo.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/time-nuts and follow the instructions there.

[time-nuts] Reliable time from GNSS signals
Those interested in GNSS and the law (what country's?) might like to see this article entitled: "Reliable time from GNSS signals" from the March/April 2017 Inside GNSS magazine, page 38. As far as I can determine, the URL is: http://online.qmags.com/GNSS0317#pg39 It was less technical than I had hoped from the title, being somewhat more about traceability than reliability, but I suppose it depends on your point of view! Yes, "gpsmod" is a name that make have been used of by many developers. There might be many programs called gpsmon around. But I think all this one does is respond to NMEA sentences. So it might be useful. The first step in figuring this out is to look if there is any data coming out. Put a scope on the TX pin and see if there is data. Then if there is data pipe it to a terminal On Wed, May 3, 2017 at 7:24 PM, Bob kb8tqwrote: > Hi > > I have a nasty suspicion that the “GPSMon" Zyfer is talking about is not > the same > program that is part of the Linux package.
