Re: [time-nuts] (no subject)
Someone with more knowledge/experience than me may know better than to try this and will let everyone know not to, but the second harmonic reading on my 5065A had been gradually decreasing until finally it wouldn't come up at all. After trying the same thing you did(not having the equipment to do the procedure in the manual) I started changing adjustments after first marking their original settings. The second one I tried was the pot(I believe it is R29) near center rear looking from above(with the top cover removed, of course). It's the one(on my 24xx? if I recall correctly, the latest series anyway) with the two white plastic adjustments whowing through a hole about 1/2" diameter. Sorry I can't give exact information, but I'm writing this from memory, as the 5065A is about ten miles away. Anyway, I moved it about an eighth turn at a time and on the third try the second harmonic came up. I set it, as I recall, to about 32 and it's been working fine for the last couple weeks. As I said, if this shouldn't be done for any reason, hopefully those in the know will let me/us know. Lots of possible items. But the fact that the last line are all 0 may mean its as simple as the loop selector being open and not closed. Normally the control would tend to drift all the way over. On reset it goes all the way left and if it doesn't find the second harmonic it goes all the way to the right. Easy thought at least. Beyond that many possibilities for issues. After all they are old. Regards Paul WB8TSL On Sun, Dec 6, 2015 at 11:30 PM, Jim/Anna McIntyre wrote: > Greetings all, > My name is Jim, I'm a Noob to your list. Re: [time-nuts] HP 3581A question
Corby ,have you checked the Keysight tech support site? I didn't have time to investigate completely, but they have a 3581a/c operating and service manual pdf. My unit has a dual pot with a concentric shaft. The only manual I have shows a single pot. If anyone has a manual that shows the dual pot could you let me know the values of the pots? Yep, that's the one, Corby. I'll let Bill know you're not interested. I no longer look to play with the Tracor units (304 308 600 900) as their performance does not merit putting a lot of work into them. Thanks for the heads up however! Re: [time-nuts] PRS10 rubidium on eBay
Corby, a friend of mine has a rubidium standard he wants to sell. I can't remember exactly what it is, but I think it's an Austron 504(?) (704?). I sold you one many years ago(like 20 or so). They came from one of the ATT microwave sites. His number is 308-532-3291 and he lives in North Platte, NE. He's 91 years old, pretty sharp but nearly blind from macular degeneration and he's pretty hard of hearing so he's a bit difficult to talk with. He is on Skype and it works better than the landline fone. If you want to try Skype look for William O Wesslund. [time-nuts] Cinox source
I realize this is pretty mundane for such an elite group, but would anyone have some information(specifically the pinout) for an EGG Cinox 10Mhz source. It has the following numbers printed on it: 10085-0611 and 20296-1891 and has three feedthrus labelled E1(orange wire), E2(black wire), and E3(yellow wire) and also a connector which is either an SMB or an MMCX(I can never remember which is which).
