Re: [time-nuts] Datachron 3070

Hi

10 MHz at roughly 10 dbm is a pretty good bet. That’s *if* it uses an external
reference and not just something like IRIG. It’s not really clear that they all
do have external reference capability (despite the jack).

Has anyone got a manual for one of these by chance?

I'd like to feed in an external oscillator but I'd like to know the frequency
and amplitude before I go plugging it in at random.

Thanks!

I've seen units that do the switch electronically. If there's
energy at the external input, the internal source is switched off.

Subject: [time-nuts] DataChron 3070 Question

I have a DataChron 3070 Time-code Generator that I want to use as a time
display and time-code generator. It has an external frequency input, but
I can't find any switch that would allow me to turn off the internal
oscillator and use an external supplied frequency. It has switches on
the front panel to switch between an internal time-code and an external
time-code, but no switch for the frequency standard. I've tried locating
a jumper or switch inside, but there are boards on top of boards and I
don't want to start taking it apart unless I know that there is a switch
or a jumper on the bottom. Anyone have a manual or one of these units?

Thanks for your help.
