No, they are set up to default to Motorola command set. And all messages must have the proper checksum and CR LF sequence. Thanks Mark, just not getting anything on the terminal program, other than a little square character upon a restart, even tried my PicKit 2 UART tool. Tried both 4800 8N1 and 9600 8N1. Have tried sending @@Cj and a host of other supported commands from the users manual ie @@Ea. There is a command to enable Zodiac binary mode. Mark: Is there any trick in getting serial data from these units. I have my terminal program set to 4800 8N1 and the txd and rxd pins on the receiver connected through a TTL/RS232 converter to the PC. Can not get anything on the terminal screen. Scoping the TXD pin on the receiver and I see a burst of data at power up, but that is about it. BTW, the Jupiter receivers have a command that can configure the 1PPS output to 100PPS. I got in some V.KSEL Sirf and Ublox receiver modules today and taught Lady Heather to speak SIRF binary. Kind of a waste... SIRF does not give give you any control over the 1PPS signal and the message that gave some 1PPS info is no longer supported. Thanks, sounds like the TU60-D120 series has a completely different firmware numbering system than the TU30-140/410 in the link below. I ordered one and hopefully it will be fine. They run on 5V, talk either Motorola binary (default at power-on) or Zodiac binary (serial data at 9600:8N1). The antenna connector is MCX. The one I got in last week does not have any GPS week rollover problems. Their Motorola binary mode seems to have issues setting TRAIM parameters using Motorola commands... works fine using the Zodiac commands. Hint: beware of any receivers that emulate Motorola binary (or any other receiver language)... all of them I have tested have some issues doing it.
