2019-09-29 Thread Neville Michie
If you have a square wave at .5PPS and you connect a large series capacitor to
the coil of a quartz clock
(less battery) you get alternating seconds pulses drive to an analogue dial.
50 ohms will easily drive the about 1k coil.
Cheap quartz clocks make good slaves.

[time-nuts] Even Seconds Pulse option (1PP2S), HP 58503B

2019-09-29 Thread gandalfg8--- via time-nuts
OPTIONAL 1 PP2S OUTPUT
(EVEN-SECOND OUTPUT)
An even-second (1 PP2S) output is
available as an option to the 58503B.
The even-second output option
provides one pulse every other second,
synchronized to the even seconds in
GPS time. This is the reference time
used in CDMA base stations. GPS evensecond
pulses from the 1 PP2S option
are used to synchronize the Agilent®
8921A (Option 600) and the Agilent
8935A cellular base station test sets.
Synchronizing the test set from an
independent source permits remote base
station testing and independent base
station frequency and time reference
accuracy checks.

Supposedly stored in a closet since 2010 (verified by its diagnostic logs), the

Today, it happily has a GPS Lock and is currently “re-learning” where the 1 PPS

Option 002 : 1 PP2S (One-Pulse-Per-Two-Seconds) connector for outputting a

Impulse stepper clocks. Though I will say a bit odd in that normally there

Essentially even odd seconds across the stepper motor.
