Re: [time-nuts] eLORAN will be on the air 8970

2020-11-17 Thread paul swed
As a heads up on eLORAN it appears the GRI of 89700 is only secondaries. No
master. The Austrons and FS700 work just fine as long as you tell them to
use a secondary or in the FS700 allow it to use a secondary.

eLORAN has been rock solid over the last 24 hours. In the last test I did
see an occasional "Blink". That would mean you could not trust the signal.
But outside of a odd startup on the SRS FS700 its really stable. Offsets
typically below 1 X10-10 to 10-11 region. Not using a super reference
locally.

Little bits of reports. But its somewhat quite. Granted I also know several
time-nuts purchase timing receivers from the last test run. So maybe
interest is picking up a bit.
The big question is if eLORAN will be a supported PNT reference or not.
That questions been on the table for about 12 years now as governments
change and we do nothing.

Hi Paul,

I keep reading these postings with interest.

Is there any interaction with users such as yourself on when it runs,
"listening reports", etc?

Cheers,
Magnus
