[toaster] /service/qmail-send: unable to open supervise/ok: file does not exist

2005-09-08 Thread colin williams
Hello,

I followed a life with qmail install but then found this qmail toaster
site and decided it would be easier to follow than to continue
installing vpopmail and everything else with no guide. I had the life
with qmail install working but tried to remove every file that was
associated with it. Anyways i have been following this qmail toaster
install and have done it 2x but when I qmailctl stat i get

perl:/var/qmail/supervise/qmail-send# qmailctl stat
/service/qmail-send: unable to open supervise/ok: file does not exist
/service/qmail-send/log: unable to open supervise/ok: file does not exist
/service/qmail-smtpd: unable to open supervise/ok: file does not exist
/service/qmail-smtpd/log: unable to open supervise/ok: file does not exist
messages in queue: 0
messages in queue but not yet preprocessed: 0
perl:/var/qmail/supervise/qmail-send#

I am pretty sure I have removed everything from the lwq install
including the users can anyone help me so i can get this up and
running?

ps. im running debian if that makes a difference.

That sounds interesting
Would you mind sharing you code changes to the rest of us please?

 Hi,

I've installed Bill's toaster to Dual opteron, GENTOO linux, 64bit
 environment.

Everything without problem (jut needed to change 2 lines of his code ;-)

 Carlos J. Muentes napsal(a):

Wow, I had the same exact problem with SLES9 64-bit edition, but
with courier-authlib! I did the same thing, uninstalled the 64-bit
version, and installed the 32-bit vesion and all problems went away
just like that. I found articles of others having the same issues
with the 64-bit version of SLES, so I assume courier-authlib, as well
as other lib's/bin's are having issues with compiling on 64-bith
 architectures.
I also had issues with konqueror in the 64-bit version crashing for
unknown reasons, that also went away with an install of the 32-bit
 version.

[toaster] debain toaster problems compiling / installing courier imap

2005-09-08 Thread colin williams
hello again,

the last issue i posted i got past. I had to restart my server. I think
some service wasn't runing or it had something to do with the inittab.
Anyways following the toaster page i got to the courier imap part.
First i didnt have gmake but i just created a link to make.

Here's the real trouble

wondering about that warning too...

[toaster] suse 9.3 64 bit version

2005-09-08 Thread colin williams
Ill make a bet that you are having the same problem that im having.
There is something about having 2 different libraries because not
everything for the 64 bit linux's are compiled for 32 bit and 64 bit
processors. So you have 2 different libraries and it causes problems
sometimes. I am not very good at explaining it cause I am not an
expert. Hopefully someone smarter than me will give me a fix so I can
get my mailserver up and running.

[toaster] WG: receive an E-Mail via pop3

2005-09-08 Thread Sven Jansen

Hi @all we run qmail from shupp.org

Everythink works fine accept for one minor problem.
If an
E-Mail is send to an user it directly apears in the Maildir
folder.
This
works fine and very fast, BUT if we now try to receive this
E-Mail
it
takes 5 min.Although telnet to localhost on port 110 shows via list no
E-Mail ???

has
anyone else this Probleme/solve this problem

thx in

Check the system time on the server. Make sure you use NTP to keep the
time synced. And make sure your client machine's time is correct too.
