[toaster] Simscan Spam Point not work sometimes

2008-03-24 Thread Kubilay Akyol (Radore Telekom)
Hello Again,

I have a simscan rule like this.

domain.com:clam=yes,spam=yes,spam_hits=35,attach=.pif:.scr:.com:.cpl:.vbs:.c
ab:.bat:.lnk:.pl:.cmd:.exe:.wsh:.hta
:clam=yes,spam=yes,spam_hits=20,attach=.pif:.scr:.com:.cpl:.vbs:.cab:.bat:.l
nk:.pl:.cmd:.exe:.wsh:.hta

But when I examine the log file, I saw that, some e-mails less then 35 spam
points are rejected but some are not?

Why this happen?

[toaster] chkuser problem on [EMAIL PROTECTED]

2008-03-19 Thread Kubilay Akyol (Radore Telekom)
Hello,

I found a problem on chkuser. Maybe there is a solution, that I don't know.

If I sent e-mail from e.g. Gmail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] which domain.com hosted
in my qmail, chkuser blocks it and says
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 13): 550 5.1.1 sorry, no mailbox here by
that name (chkuser)

But, If the e-mail sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED], where there is no user named
default, then chkuser accepts the e-mail but then qmail bounce the e-mail
back to sender. This make problem on spam mails, because all e-mails sent to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] handled by qmail, and as you guest, bounce mails are
double bounced.

I examine the vpopmail directories and found .qmail-default file with this
line
| /home/vpopmail/bin/vdelivermail '' bounce-no-mailbox

I guess this file created automatically. I have 1000 domains on qmail, there
are lots of double bounce email on postmaster account.

What can we do about this?

RE: [toaster] Reject or Delete not existing recipients?

2008-03-09 Thread Kubilay Akyol (Radore Telekom)
Hi,

I understand that it will be better to chkuser to bounce, so that it will
not pass to queue.

How will I set chkusr to check to quota and bounce at smtp level if the user
is over quota?

Spam e-mails coming to full accounts are bounced because of user is over
quota and then that bounce is become double bounced.

Use chkusr for both of your questions.

1 - You won't have to scan or deliver messages when using chkusr

2 - You can set chkusr to check to quota and not deliver if the user is
over quota.

Thanks for the link Ahmet.

I had already found it on google, the way its usage is:

File: /home/vpopmail/etc/tcp.smtp

127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=
:allow,QMAILQUEUE=/var/qmail/bin/simscan,NOP0FCHECK=1,CHKUSER_MBXQUOTA=

Thanks for your help guys.

[toaster] Another Spf Question

2007-06-05 Thread Kubilay Akyol \(Radore Telekom\)
I am using spfbehavior=3 and I am planning to move spfbehavior=5

I check that Google, Hotmail and Aol has spf records. Yahoo hasn't.

But they are using ?All or ~All so spfbehavior=3 isn't stop spammers using
their addresses.

Do you suggest to move spfbehavior=5

[toaster] Incoming Filter

2007-06-03 Thread Kubilay Akyol \(Radore Telekom\)
Hi Guys,

I wonder if I can do a filter like below in qmail or other 3th party add-in.

Let's say we have a user in qmail mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Client1 connect to our mail server and get smtp auth and send email from
mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Client2 connect to our mail server and send a email for mailto:[EMAIL
PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED] from XYZ. (Spam mail)

Let's say Client1 and Client2 both have adsl connection and their IP
addresses are x.y.z.2 and x.y.z.3

What I want to do is block Client2 to connect smtp port 25 or filter in
qmail, while give Access to Client1 to send mail.

Assume that they don't have static adsl IPS.

What can I do?

Thanks.

RE: [toaster] Incoming Filter

2007-06-03 Thread Kubilay Akyol \(Radore Telekom\)
Thanks for your reply.

Adsl users sending spam e-mails using their adsl connections. I can filter
IP addresses from firewall btw, But adsl users have dynamic ip addresses.
Dropping a connection will drop all.

I want to block whole adsl ip range (/24 or more), *unless they are smtp
authenticated*

So that my smtp authenticated users can send e-mail, but other will not be
able to send e-mail to my users. It's something like rbl black listing.

Hello,

qmail is using (most) tcpserver to accept connections, so read this
http://cr.yp.to/ucspi-tcp/tcprules.html

your case is
 x.y.z.3:deny

eg smtp connection from x.y.z.3 is dropped
