Re: Manager deploy when unpackWARs = false
Amy Roh wrote: Local deploys do not copy the WAR over. So local deploy is *not* persistant until we implement to save config. This is what I was referring to. Fixing the bug is rather annoying, and the amount of stuff which should be automated is quite big, and seems not worth it. Instead, I'd like to remove local deploy from the manager servlet (IMO, it's useless). If using the Ant tasks to do a local deploy, then it's up to you to persist the config later, upon the user's choice. I think we should also add some Ant tasks: - a save config Ant task - with a context parameter allowing to save just one context (this task is also useful when using the JMX tasks to reconfigure Tomcat, and persisting the config is needed) - maybe extend a bit the JMX tasks Comments ? My site (with fairly low traffic) hangs after 7-14 days. When it hangs, I can still connect a browser to it, but the client just sits and waits forever. I have to kill and restart tomcat when this occures :( I've checked with 'netstat'. It appears that all connections to tomcat is in the 'CLOSE_WAIT' state. They disappear when tomcat is killed. I've been searching almost two days without finding any usefull result. I refuse to believe that my Win95/tomcat config is more stable (about 1-2 months of uptime) than a linux/tomcat config. (well, I don't have to reboot the computer, but that's a minor comfort) Is my problem related to bug #14994 in any way? - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

For now, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt (and not marking this a duplicate). However, to get any farther, we'll need more information. One thing that would be particularly helpful is to attach a thread-dump (since you are on Linux, you would get this by doing a kill -3 pid-of-tomcat, where pid-of-tomcat is determined by doing a ps -ef). Other things of interest are unusual entries in your log files (with especial attention to IllegalStateExceptions), whether or not netstat -a shows anyone LISTENing on the port, etc. You might also want to check out Bug #21763. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
