RE: tomcat4.1.24 + apache_2.0.47 + connectors-jk2.0.2

2004-01-02 Thread Enils Bashi
Hi,

I am sure everyone has seen the good work John has done with his how-to's;
but I am supprised at some people's denial when it comes to admitting
building problems on Redhat 9. I have tried building mod_jk and mod_jk2 from
source many times for tomcat 4.1.27 and apache-2.0.44; but it is impossible.
I am sure numerous users are having the same problems, but they are directed
to how-to's that don't deliver. I am curious to know whether someone has
succeeded in building mod_jk of any kind for Redhat 9 with tomcat 4 and
apache2.

John's excellent instructions are written for mod_jk

mod_jk2 is different.

There are several How-To's available.

from the FAQ page or

are two good sources of information.

RE: Subject: HOWTO: Apache + Tomcat + mod_jk OR mod_jk2 even IIS

Hi,

I think most people including myself are having problems building mod_jk2.so
and not configuring it. The links you provided assume that mod_jk2.so is
created.

For those seeking a solution to Integrating the following:

Tomcat 4(or 5) and mod_jk2 (Tomcat/Jk2Generic)
Tomcat 4.1.x and Apache 2.0.x on Linux with mod_jk2 and IP sockets
(LinuxJK2)
Tomcat 4.1.x and Apache 2.0.x on Linux with mod_jk and IP sockets (LinuxJK)
Tomcat 4.1.x and IIS on Windows/2000 Professional with mod_jk and IP sockets
(WinJKIIS)
Tomcat 4.1.x and IIS on Windows/2000 Professional with mod_jk2 and IP
sockets (WinJK2IIs)
Tomcat 4.1.x and Apache 2.0.x on Windows/2000 Professional with mod_jk and
IP sockets (WinJKApache)
Tomcat 4.1.x and Apache 2.0.x on Windows/2000 Professional with mod_jk2 and
IP sockets (WinJK2Apache)

I found the following site very helpful: I used this site to help me get up
and going with Tomcat 4.1.29 + Apache 2.0.48 + mod_jk2

tomcat4 and apache2 integration

2003-12-30 Thread Enils Bashi
Hi List,

I am trying to build tomcat-apache connectors and it is not working. I have
tried some of the tomcat-apache how-to's but no success. Can't create
mod_jk2.so. I got the latest tgz from jakarta.apache.org and I run the
following commands under native2 directory:

sh buildconf.sh
./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs
make
libtool --finish /usr/local/apache2/modules

but the mod_jk2.so does not get created.
I did a find / -name mod_jk2.so -print, but mod_jk2.so is nowhere to be
found.
I am running apache-2.0.44 and tomcat-4.1.27 and latest jsdk on a Redhat 9
machine
