Embedding Tomcat inside Java app.
Hi folks, I'm trying to embed Tomcat inside Java application. At the time of "/ROOT" context init, I get exception, stating that I've no read right on file "server.xml" I am really wondering what is the CORRECT way to embed Tomcat. Here is part of the output I get: ERROR reading D:\jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\web.xml java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission D:\jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\web.xml read) at org.apache.tomcat.util.xml.XmlMapper.readXml(XmlMapper.java:231) at Anyone who, suceeded in embeddig Tomcat, please give me some clue. Hi Nicolas, I've tried a lot of approaches (including giving permissions) but -- no success so far. Did you succeed embedding Tomcat? Try giving the full path of the policy file as a parameter to the jvm. Example: java -Djava.security.policy==full_path_to/ips.policy myAppWithTomcat Also note the two equal signs. This is important. Do NOT use just one equal sign. Also I'm attatching a tomca.policy file that grants all permission to all codebases. This may not be a good idea to do in production but for development it should be fine.
