RE: examples/servlet path broken?

2002-12-16 Thread Shapira, Yoav
Hi,
The invoker servlet mapping is disabled by default in 4.1.12. Comment
it back in $CATALINA_HOME/conf/web.xml. This change was made for
security purposes. You can find more details in the list archives and
the release notes.

Actually, there are complete instructions for using
mod_jk on the sun site, and you can get the so right

Hai,
Finally I fixed this problem,by commenting out the Alias directive for
each Context in the auto generated tomcat-apache.conf file and adding one
more line like "ApJServMount /examples /root" above the already existing
ApJServMount line for each Context("ApJServMount /example/servlet
/examples ").
Everything is working fine.
But what is /root mean?
Thanks all for ur kind replies

RE: /examples/servlet

2001-04-10 Thread Tony Armstrong

I don't believe commenting out the port 8080 in the server.xml file is the
fix to your problem. What it seems is happening is that apache is not
forwarding the request for the servlet to Tomcat. Thus you probably have a
configuration problem with tomcat-apache.conf.

By using port 8080 you are accessing tomcat directly thus bypassing Apache.
Read through the docs on setting up Apache with Tomcat and make sure you
have the configuration correct.

If you need any other help just reply

Re: /examples/servlet

Kamesh,
We had the same problem. In the server.xml file comment out the HTTP port part
that tells tomcat to use port 8080. Make sure that ajp12 is talking to apache
via port 8007. This should be in the server.xml file also.
Hope this helps.

when the request is coming for URL
http://localhost:8080/examples/servlet/HelloWorldExample,Tomcat responds
without any problem.
But when the request is coming for URL
http://localhost/examples/servlet/HelloWorldExample apache is taking charge
and gives file not found error.
I have ApJservMount /examples/servlet /examples in tomcat-apache.conf file
and including it in httpd.conf file

I have RHL6.2,Tomcat3.2.1,apache 1.3.12

Hi,

If you're trying to make the examples work with apache just include the
tomcat-apache.conf file in httpd.conf . This always works for me.

Hope this helps.

Title: RE: /examples/servlet

The file "tomcat-apache.conf" generated by tomcat is not always correct
You must modify it manually and save it as another file then include the correct file in httpd.conf
That's all
