I too will surely miss bobby; we had a lot of fun making contacts almost all summer long, for several seasons. He nearly always heard my 'wet string' short tx marconi. His expertise with GS35b's was well established, and he shared freely all relevant technical advice. Very sad to hear of Bob's passing. Apart from being a great bloke and 160m operator, he was a master linear amp constructor and frequently sent me pictures of his latest projects, a true craftsman. I am lucky to have one of his custom built 160m GS-35B units. That little 42 foot vertical of his sure performed on 160m. Sure miss that outstanding signal on 1824.5kHz. He also had a great sense of humour and of proportion about life in general and what was really important – and was always good for a chat. Bob's XYL, Jeannie, will continue to maintain Bob's email address for a period of time. I believe she has the ability to view these messages as they arrive.
