Don't re-invent the wheel. There are cable installers all over the place--these are people who are given the tools and connectors by Comcast and other big companies to make high reliability installations. When you see a cable truck out on location stop and ask the guy what he uses. If you explain why you are interested, you will probably get all the information you need to order the F males and tools yourself, but also find out what they use for cable. It's usually Belden "drop cable" high quality outdoor RG6. My experience has been these materials and tools are superior to what the ham radio vendors sell.
