As far as I can tell the approach you're taking is the only way to do this
(the `http-on-modify-request` event does not fire for `resource://` URLs
for obvious reasons, so a content policy is required). Not sure what the
Tor Browser policy is on licensing.

Comment:

If I "inspect" the "Reply" button it and look at `font-family` under the
 Computed (style) tab says
 {{{
 input[type="submit"]> -moz-use-system-font
 }}}
and indicates that this style setting comes from `resource://gre-
resources/forms.css`. Interestingly, this `font-family` setting overrides
one provided by tor.css (in the page).

On my (Ubuntu/XFCE) system, the "Reply" text is visible, however. The
"Fonts" tab indicates that it is rendered in Cousine, which is bundled
with Tor Browser. Georg, what OS/desktop did you see this problem?

At first I agreed with you, but now I do not think we need to add anything
to our mozconfigs. Because of the following statement inside
js/src/jit/ExecutableAllocator.cpp, this feature is always turned on:
  bool ExecutableAllocator::nonWritableJitCode = true;

OK, I was able to run tbb-tests/test_tor_bug1517.html on a different

silence.ogg vs. audio.ogg difference (but it should probably be fixed).

Comment (by mcs):

For the regression test patch (936cadcc8dd2b0e6784be69cabe44880e36839b0),
the test code references silence.ogg but the patch adds a file named
 audio.ogg. Shouldn't they match?

 The currentTime rounding patch (b91f47cce42a2e048f970a18710f9c15672a6cfc)
 looks good.

I tried to run the regression tests myself, but mach mochitest is not
cooperating at the moment (I think this is due to Mac OS 10.11 Python
differences; it is definitely not related to the tests themselves).

We also had to backport the patch from

security/manager/ssl/StaticHPKPins.h as part of the backport for
 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1233328 (Mozilla has an
 automated process that does that).

The three patches are on the bug19164-01 branch within brade's tor-browser

The first two applied cleanly but we had to do some manual work for the
third one (Mozilla refactored some code under js/src/asmjs).

Comment:

 Please review
 [https://gitweb.torproject.org/user/iwakeh/collector.git?h=task-19015
 -logging-framework my branch].

It looks longish, but the fisrt commit replaces the logging statements
etc. and the second deletes the unnecessary scripts and provides a changed
 INSTALL.md.

INSTALL.md is far from complete, but it shouldn't tell anything outdated
anymore. It is still up for review and completion in #18734.

With this branch #19021 could be merged to master in the main repo.

Comment:

Just to add a comment here that may be useful.

My justification for running ooniprobe at the University of Aberdeen is in
 two parts:

 1) My research is in the area of Internet Measurement with direct overlap
with OONI. Although we often have goals of enabling transport protocol
innovation or verifying new transport protocol modifications are viable it
is exactly the same scientific techniques that are used and my visibility
of OONI's development helps to inform my research.

 2) When performing Internet Measurements it is important that I can verify
I am testing the paths I believe I am testing and not just testing
 University/ISP/Government/Security Service infrastructure that has
intercepted and rerouted the connection, as this would lead to results
that have not been generated with "good science".

Comment (by isis):

The sandstorm instance is currently running on a machine with two cores
(at 2.4Ghz, I think?), of which it uses an average of 10-20%. It has 2GB
RAM, of which it usually uses ~50%. The biggest problem is disk space as
people use it more and more. Right now it has a 50GB disk, with 46% in
 use.

We do run ooniresources in the postinst script. During the build of the
package we use the geoip library from Debian main though, which also means
our tests run without the non-free geoip database.

 > What was the resolution for this?

The resolution of the Debian bug was that he was working on patches but
there were still license issues, so it wasn't really fixed, just the bug
 was marked as done.

I'm not convinced this bug is immediately resolvable, but I understand it
now which is good. We should continue to hope that one day a free ASN
 database can be found.

I think given the fact that ooniresources downloads the GeoIP databases
(together with the testing lists) and is a requirement to running

We do still have a suggests for geoip-database-contrib though.

@hellais is this still an issue? can we drop the suggests?

 @anadahz @hellais

Would you like me to backport the 1.4.2 package currently in stretch or
instead wait until it is possible to backport 1.5.1 (would be a week delay
 while 1.5.1 migrates to stretch).

can you please let me know what you need in terms of disk and memory for a

I assume that it doesn't need very much cpu. If that is wrong, please let

 Cheers,

Tor emits stream and circuit bandwidth events about once per second.
However delays in the control port and controller libraries makes the
event time not reliable enough for accurate bandwidth measurements.

It would be useful for making bandwidth authorities if both the STREAM_BW
and CIRC_BW events included timestamps in the event.

Comment (by cypherpunks):

FWIW the CAPTCHAs given when JavaScript is disabled are IMO easier to
 solve than with Javascript enabled.

Without JavaScript i get the type of CAPTCHA that simply asks me to tick
the boxes that match the given criterion. I get to review the submission
before actually submitting it and therefore get these right on the first
try most of the time. With JavaScript i get the type of CAPTCHA that
replaces the images with new ones until none match the given criterion.
These take much longer to solve because the images are replaced multiple
times and it seems one accidental misclick invalidates the entire CAPTCHA.

I would appreciate it if the JavaScript version would function more like
the non-JavaScript version in terms of ease of solving and the option to
 review submissions.

Lastly, the non-JavaScript version requires users to submit a long code to
authenticate them solving the CAPTCHA successfully. Since CloudFlare is a
MITM, wouldn't CloudFlare be able to handle this submission automatically?
This would remove one more step that users have to take.

I just noticed that Onionoo is not yet using the released descriptor.jar

Comment:

Arthur is fine with it, too, so taking for 6.0.1. In fact all other
possible fixes would likely have been more complex making them more
unsuitable for the stable. This is commit
 d7f98ce46b9cc43bb4ec8482938cb04f6ca99e21 on tor-browser-45.1.1esr-6.0-1.
