 Hello,

 I am having trouble launching TOR. Every time I launch it, I get this
 error: [http://links.mikecardona.com/49f642]
 I tried deleting the app and reinstalling but no luck. Are you guys
 experiencing some bug right now or do I need to do something to get this
 fixed?

 I have a Mac OS running Catalina. It was working fine with Catalina too,
 so I know it's not that. Thank you.

 TOR version 8.5.4[]

 Help is much appreciated, thank you.

 When TOR_PUSH_DELAY is greater than zero, the branch pushes and CI jobs
 run in this order:
 master
 maint-0.2.9
 ...
 maint-0.4.1
 release-* (in arbitrary order)

 I also made push --atomic the default, and passed any script arguments to
 git push.

 Questions:
 * should "no delay" be the default? The CI jobs will launch in an
 arbitrary order.

 I did a quick review here, because the appveyor failures are blocking
 backport merges.

 I think the new code warns on any skew, but the old code only warned on
 skews over 1 hour. That change is not documented in the changes file, and
 seems to be a mistake?

 Thanks. The language pack related commit looks good to me, nice find! I
 cherry-picked that one to `master` as commit
 4a632f8ac10f5d01ac9ef075fc698bd7454ab6cb. I looked over the ESR 68 changes
 again and tweaked the commit slightly, e.g. by passing `--enabled-proxy-
 bypass-protection` to i686 as well. It's now commit
 c26b8196c90e908a83104c639865a2aca6598efe. Please have a look once you are
 back.

 There are a number of XXX's and issues we still should try to address as
 well. For verbosity they are:

 1) We are installing `python` just for `mach`. I guess we should use the
 one we built ourselves instead?
 2) gold and lld break for 32bit and we need to resort to bfd. This needs
 investigation (I bet Mozilla is not affected here)
 3) We don't get 32bit signing related binaries anymore but we need those.
 We need to fix that.
 4) We need to enable the updater again once the rebases patches are
 available
 5) I think we still should build the debug build with GCC enabled to catch
 potential issues Mozilla is not catching anymore after they switched to
 clang.

 Creating a new 'Tor Network' panel as a peer General, Home, Search, etc
 would probably be best in terms of UX, thought it is a bit more work than
 inserting the new stuff into General but that's fine.

 I'm also personally in favor of nuking the existing 'Network Settings' in
 the General panel. For most users, it's just an easily accessible footgun.
 I think we can expect that users doing clever things with a custom Tor
 setup should be clever enough to edit {{{network.proxy.socks}}} and
 {{{network.proxy.socks_port}}} directly.

 mcs also brings up a good point about {{{Advanced}}} that I unfortunately
 think applies in general in the main views of about:preferences: the UI
 doesn't seem to change anywhere when you select option bubbles or
 select/deseelct checkboxes. Whereas the current tor-launcher Tor Network
 Settings page shows and hides UI elements based on options selected and
 boxes checked.

 I think we could reasonably display (without dynamically showing/hiding)
 all the input elements in the bridge selection UI, though maybe the 'I use
 a proxy...' and the 'This computer goes...' section should go into an
 overlay via an 'I have a weird computer network' button?

 When I originally designed this UI, I thought that it could be nice to
 rotate the snowflake icon when snowflake has connections
 (`rotate(360deg)`). Maybe we can think about it the next iteration!

 I agree with the idea of keeping the UI similar to what we currently have
 in Tor Launcher. We do not have a lot of time before this work needs to be
 finished, and we also do not have time to make changes to the startup
 wizard. Also, if we reuse most of the localized strings that will reduce
 localization effort. I also agree that in the longer run we should take a
 fresh look, i.e., during the sponsor30 project.

 I am not sure where the settings should go in about:preferences. One
 approach would be to add a new `Tor Network` panel (a peer of
 General/Home/Search/etc.).

 It would be great to de-emphasize the Firefox `Network Settings` on the
 General panel, although some advanced users need to access it. Maybe add a
 warning message or alert? But we can tackle this after Tor Browser 9.0.

 One question about your proposed design: under `Advanced`, will checking
 the `[] Use a local proxy` box cause the proxy settings to be displayed
 inline? I think that is OK, but Mozilla uses overlay panels when they want
 to push some settings deeper, e.g., for their Network Settings.

 Thanks torlove, we'll change the website so it correctly reflects this.
 Tor Browser is not technically available from F-Droid yet, enabling the
 Guardian Project F-Droid repo is still a requirement. We're working on
 getting Tor Browser accepted directly into F-Droid - see #27539 (this is
 mostly blocking on me, at the moment). But, because this is taking such a
 long time, we'll update the website as you suggested.

 updates.

 I am trying to use a tor proxy on mac to force all of my internet traffic
 through the tor network. I have followed every guide I could find online,
 but none of them work. when I go to https://check.torproject.org/ in when
 not in the tor browser it still says I'm not connected to tor. I there a
 way that I can force all of my internet traffic through tor, or is it a
 lost cause?

 Kathy and I think that onPageHide() can be removed since its purpose was
 to remove the listeners that presumably are now removed for us via the
 `LEGACY_ACTORS` mechanism. We only need a "one time" update at page load
 time. But it would be good to test things by loading about:tbupdate and
 making sure the version and release date are filled in.

 This looks good to us. We tested the "access denied" case on macOS and saw
 an error alert as expected. We also tried to test the "read only file"
 system case but we did not seen an alert. I made a note to test that
 scenario again when Kathy and I are in a better position to debug it (we
 are in the middle of rebasing updater patches at the moment). I think we
 should use this patch for now and fix it up later if necessary,

 Hi,
 yes, when im using tor, the last version. 8.5.4
 I tried to disable Noscript extension and it doesnt work
 Also disabled anti virus, ad guard, Vpn, malwarebaytes
 Still dosnt work
 tried to reinstall tor and it doesnt work
 Also when i try to get in the troubleshooting information it freezes to me
 the whole computer
 maybe i should use older version of tor? but there is no security issue
 with older versions?

 According to https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/emailLists
 only mrphs was admin of the ux list. I changed the page to the according
 values and furthermore reset the password to the one you hopefully know.

 Please try to log in. If it stills fails, please reopen the ticket and
 I'll create a new password and send it to you, isabela and mrphs as
 encrypted mail.
