Have there been any firmware updates or has NAD claimed linux support? You could try kernel #9 from the expedients thread if you have access to one, but I have yet to see any debugging of why this is not working.. [SlimDevices: Touch] squeezecommander vs squeezebox app
I've downloaded squeeze commander as an alternative to the Logitech android app, after reading how much better it is. I've found that it is not very intuitive. For example I can't figure out how to change the player. In the settings it shows that it sees 2 players. On the Logitech app you simply touch the name of the player and you get a list of players to select. The Logitech app also has a split screen that allows you to see more. I don't get how the paid app is better. Am I missing something? dood's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56698 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96015 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

You can use any old font you like, btw, just make sure that it has all the codepoints / characters you need. ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

The official app requires you to set up an account with Logitech, Squeezecommander does not. What happens ins your LAN stays in your LAN. That said, I don't like its interface either, so I'm still using SqueezeControl. It vanished from the Market a while back, but I can send you the .apk if you want. ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] squeezecommander vs squeezebox app
Which device do you use? You can swipe left on the NowPlaying screen to get the list of players. There you can indeed simply touch it to change players. Plus directly control all of them. It's probably not optimized for a tablet, but there are devices where you definitely do not want a split screen. pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96015 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

dood wrote: I don't get how the paid app is better. Am I missing something? Depends on what your needs are. For instance, compared to Squeeze Commander the official app lacks: - The ability to copy music to your device for offline playback - The ability to pause or mute audio when a call comes in on phone - The ability to edit/reorder menus and reorder items within current playlist I also found the official app to be slower in some operations (e.g., scrolling through long lists) If the official app meets your needs, that's great. If not, you may find Orange Squeeze to be more intuitive than Squeeze Commander (plus, it is currently being more actively developed/supported). bwaldron's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1073 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96015 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] squeezecommander vs squeezebox app
This was a must for me, as it brought back the party mode functionality and stopped my guests accidentally deleting the current playlist. The fact that it works on Android devices, means our guests can put it on their own phones and browse and add to the current playlist. The interface can be a little confusing. It took me ages to work out how to change to party mode and it's sort-of obvious once you know how. 1ka's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96015 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Announce: Enhanced Digital Output app - USB Dac and 192k Digital Ouput
I run EDO+TT+SBGK. The Touch's USB output is routed to a DSPeaker Dual Core EQ/DAC via a Music Fudelity VLink II USB to SPDIP converter. I noticed that when playing a CD rip, the display of the Dual Core reads 24/44 rather than 16/44 which is the actual resolution of the rip. According to the VLink II manual, this device does not upsample. The Dual Core appears to read all other input resolutions normally (24/88, 24/96, etc.). Any thoughts? Triode? The internal processing of usb audio is likely to be 24 bits for all cases and will fill the lower 8 bits with 0s. However if you have replay gain enabled or the volume set to less than 100% then the bits may be altered by the gain setting and this will alter all 24 bits. Some Dacs such as the Audiolab MDAC monitor the number of bits which are changing and use this for the bit depth - people notice that the dac reads 44/16 at 100% volume and then it changes to 44/24 if you change the volume. Is this the case for you, or perhaps the dac is just measuring that there are 24bits per sample being received. I don't have replay gain enabled, but I do control the volume at the Touch rather than at the preamp (surprisingly to me, this sounds more transparent -- i run both the Dual Core and the preamp with no attenuation). I'll try reverting to using the preamp volume as a test. Throttled down to 90% and it read 44/24. Thanks again.
