Did that pop up disappear without user intervention? I didn't get the pop up :-( Yes, it disappears automatically after afaik 30s. Plus make sure notifications for system updates are enabled in the icon's context menu. -- Michael ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch review - WeGotServed
Well it didn't appear on the client console however when I used the client to log into the server and then chose the Squeezebox Settings setion there was a message saying that there was a new version available. This was available in the plugins available tab. I had to uninstall the old version and select the new one. -- spile spile's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37780 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79356 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch review - WeGotServed
Ahh that will be the WHS console. It does behave as you describe but (to my knowledge) only for Windows updates, not updates to plugins such as Squeezebox server. It would be nice if it did though. It does. At least it should. If you're on 7.5.0, then you might see it in a few days... -- Michael ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch review - WeGotServed
Many thanks for this. I wondered if there was a prompt suggesting you upgrade your server software to version X but clearly not. If you install the WHS add-in and have the client software running on your computer, then yes, you should get a notification about updates available. -- Michael ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Is it a process of uninstalling the plugin and manually downloading and installing the upgrade from the console? The WHS version of SBS adds an SBS panel to your WHS Console interface. On a WHS machine you uninstall the previous SBS version from your ADD-IN panel, and then install the new SBS as an ADD-IN component through the WHS console. This gives you the ability to access the SBS interface setup for the WHS console. However, you can just do a normal Windows install of non WHS versions of SBS on a WHS machine. The difference between this and a WHS install is that you don't have the SBS panel in the WHS console. But functionally, both versions of SBS will run fine on a WHS machine. And the SBS panel in the WHS console doesn't really do much for you. -- firedog Tranquil PC fanless WHS server running SqueezeServer; SB Duet through Empirical Audio Pace Car; MF X-150 amp, MF V DAC3, Devore Gibbon Super 8 Speakers; Mirage MS-12 sub; Dual 506 + Ortofon 20 (occasional use); sometimes use PC with M-Audio 192 as digital source.
