[Touch-packages] [Bug 1467602] Re: after screenlock and screen suspend, external display port monitor doesn't resume properly
** Tags added: latest-bios-a04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1467602 Title: after screenlock and screen suspend, external display port monitor doesn't resume properly Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have a Dell XPS 13 9343 with external display link monitor which I use in non-mirrored mode as two different screens. If the screen locks and suspends (simply locking is not enough) if I tap a key/move the mouse/etc the laptop screen comes up and the external monitor flashes on, but then the external monitor goes blank (but I can see its backlight is on). If I login, the desktop seems to think it is off and all of open windows are rearranged (it even puts some on different workspaces). The only thing resembling a workaround is if I tap a key, watch when the external monitor is blank, then turn off the external monitor, then turn it on, then unlock the screen. This isn't great though-- some windows are invisible and rearranged and I have to cycle through the different workspaces to find them and put them back. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1469626] Re: Xorg freeze after [mi] EQ overflowing.
Aurel Branzeanu, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. If the test did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where X, Y, and Z are numbers corresponding to the kernel version. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Once testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) = linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1469626 Title: Xorg freeze after [mi] EQ overflowing. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1001825] Re: apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse: conflict between ubuntu and OS X
Thanks for the guide, esinahkatakka! I'm taking a stab in the dark here, but could it maybe be that Ubuntu turns the keyboard/mouse off when you shutdown and OS X doesn't? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001825 Title: apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse: conflict between ubuntu and OS X Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: First of all, ubuntu 12.04(tested with mac specific iso and 64 bits) and grub 2(tested grub efi amd64 of course) do not acknowledge apple bluetooth keyboard(and mouse for ubuntu); installing blueman at ubuntu seems to be the only way to get both working on ubuntu, a very difficult process, which required an usb mouse because there are no working bluetooth apple devices; the issue is never fixed, only made less worse as shown below, please check these four threads for more information(the issue affect plenty of users, and has not been adressed properly since 2011?!): http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1980171 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1874245 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11949032#post11949032 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1980593 If ubuntu gets control of mac keyboard and mouse, Os X lose it(and pre boot keyboard pairing cease to exist, no more pre boot hotkeys possible); if OS X have control of keyboard and mouse, ubuntu lose it; switching from one to another requires quite painfull keyboard and mouse redetection with blueman from ubuntu, or, at osx side, osx take quite some time to detect them again after an ubuntu login. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1478204] [NEW] ACPI 219 - boot failure
Public bug reported: The bug reported by others and reported fixed in May only began affecting me this month (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1432171/comments/27). I suspect that the fix for other people's issues has caused my issue. Going to Advanced Options and booting the upstart version doesn't help. I've done the apt-get install upstart-sysv suggested as a fix. That does make a difference, but subsequently it appears to get lost looking for a graphics driver. It asks to use a default graphic mode, but then the screen goes blank and nothing seems to happen. I am running 15.04 with all the latest patches (up to about a week ago, when this stopped me using the system) installed. ** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1478204 Title: ACPI 219 - boot failure Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: The bug reported by others and reported fixed in May only began affecting me this month (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1432171/comments/27). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1478217] [NEW] can't pair bluetooth keyboard, phone doesn't show code.
Public bug reported: 1) Device: Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition OS: Ubuntu 15.04 (r68) - armhf (20150724-020304) 2) Bluez version 4.101-0ubuntu25 indicator-bluetooth version 0.0.6+14.10.20141006-0ubuntu1 3) When trying to connect a bluetooth keyboard (SilverCrest SBT 3.0 A1), pairing doesn't follow correct procedure. On other devices (Android 5.1.1 on Nexus 10; Ubuntu 15.04 on BTO laptop) a 6 digit number is displayed, which needs to be typed on the Bluetooth keyboard, followed by pressing [Enter]. 4) On Ubuntu touch, a dialogue appears asking to enter a 4 digit PIN on the phone. Default is '' and at first the phone says the device is connected, but the phone does not respond to any input from the keyboard. After some time the phone indicates the device is not connected. All of this is similarly described in this askubuntu article: http://askubuntu.com/questions/625533/how-to-pair-external-bluetooth- keyboard-to-ubuntu-touch-bq-phone, which has not received any answers as of yet. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1476705] Re: [SOLVED] postscript printer hideously slow in some cases (pdftops)
Gimp is also, for now, limited to srgb, so anything coming from gimp will work fine with cairo. And, for a postscript printer, jpegs should be converted directly to ps, not via pdf, so that wouldn't matter either. But if you used a workflow which used, say, AdobeRGB as the colour working space, and published to pdf, then you would want to avoid cairo. Or if you used a workflow which ends up with a CMYK pdf. But if everything you do is in sRGB or grayscale, then pdftocairo is fine for you. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to poppler in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1476705 Title: [SOLVED] postscript printer hideously slow in some cases (pdftops) Status in poppler package in Ubuntu: New Status in system-config-printer package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: With my (old) postscript printer, print a single page can take many minutes on some situations. It happens with some PDF files (not all) and Firefox printing of Google map, for example. When this happens, I observed in system monitor that pdftops is running continuously. After some manual PDF - PS conversions, I see that pdftops inflates the file size for problematic cases, but is ok for other files (size similar to the original file, or even smaller). I don't know if modern Postscript printers can handle this quickly, but it's unacceptable here and certainly not an efficient way to print those files. So I suspect that pdftops should be fixed. For example, I join a problematic pdf produced by Google Map in Firefox. I tried many conversions. As you can see, I get a much larger file (36 times) with pdftops. It is worse with pdf2ps (and it takes longer to process), so replace pdftops by pdf2ps is not an option for me. However, pdftocairo quickly produces an efficient file. I have the same success if I open the PDF file with Evince and print it as a Postscript file. I get a similar file if I print to PS directly from Google Map (Firefox). Of course these small PS files produced by pdftocairo, Evince of Firefox print flawlessly on my printer. See also Bug # 1095498 which I suspect is the same (old) thing, but I fill a new one since it doesn't seem to be printer specific. Of course, another workaround could be to use a PCL driver but no one is available for my printer (HP Color Laserjet 2605dn). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1478257] [NEW] [MX4] phone does not ring and call can not be picked up
Public bug reported: Hello, I noticed that sometimes I can not answer a call on the Meizu MX4 (OTA-5 installed). Symptoms when someone tries to call: - no ringtone (even though the phone is not set to silent) - the display wakes, now on the first attempt the red and green buttons appear. I accept the call, but I can hear nothing and the person who is calling still gets the ringtone on his side - so the call actually was never picked up. - if immediately called again the screen wakes, but this time the red/green buttons to answer the call do not appear anymore at all - the call is registered as missed call in the notifications I observed this behavior already two times so far. So it keeps reappearing, although it is not exactly reproducible in the sense that it would happen always. I have accepted calls with the phone, which was not powered off between the time when it did work and now that it doesn't work. Please let me know, if you need further details and I will try to provide them. release: ubuntu 15.04 (r3) Thomas ** Affects: dialer-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to dialer-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1478257 Title: [MX4] phone does not ring and call can not be picked up Status in dialer-app package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hello, I noticed that sometimes I can not answer a call on the Meizu MX4 (OTA-5 installed). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1477955] Re: Bluetooth Will Not Find Attached Adaptor Though lsusb Sees It
It was a hardware specific problem. This works for my Logitech receiver and may also work for other brands... http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1332197 There are two modes the dongle works in, Embedded and HCI. By default the embedded is active, which emulates a USB device so it seems to your PC that your using a normal USB mouse/keyoard. If you hold the little red Button on the USB BT mini-receiver it will enable the other mode. Hold the red button on the BT dongle and plug it into the computer, and after 3-5 seconds of holding the button, the Bluetooth icon will appear in the system tray. You can then use the adapter as a BT receiver. The adapter continues to work in BT mode after reboots, but I think the occasional BT failure (usually after an update) is caused by the mode changing. ** Changed in: bluez (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1477955 Title: Bluetooth Will Not Find Attached Adaptor Though lsusb Sees It Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04 yesterday, where Bluetooth worked fine. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1478250] [NEW] hp x360 laptop keyboard freezes for 1 sec. every few minutes
Public bug reported: A couple weeks ago Installed ubuntu 14.04 on an hp spectre x360. It works great except for a strange keyboard problem. Every 2 or 3 minutes the keyboard freezes for about 1 second - it misses keystrokes completely. Anything typed during that 1 second period is missed. For that same period, the LED in the F5 key turns off. The F5 key is normally illuminated. If you hit it, that turns the LED off and turns on the keyboard backlight. Hit it again, and the backlight goes off and F5 lights up again. Apparently while that light is out, the keyboard is disabled. I wrote a program that printed a variable character pattern to a terminal every 4 times/sec and just watched it. I wanted to know if the whole computer (or just whole desktop?) was freezing, or just the keyboard. When the keyboard light turned off, the program kept running, so I think it's just the keyboard. The timing of the light blinking off is variable. If I am not typing, the light seems to blink at a 2min 30 sec.to 3min 30 sec period. It seems more often than that when I am actually typing, perhaps 2 minutes. I'm guessing this is a keyboard driver problem? Anyone else seen this? /proc/version is Linux version 3.16.0-43-generic (buildd@brownie) (gcc version 4.8.2 (Ubuntu 4.8.2-19ubuntu1) ) #58~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jun 22 10:21:20 UTC 2015. ** Affects: openssh (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1478250 Title: hp x360 laptop keyboard freezes for 1 sec. every few minutes Status in openssh package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: A couple weeks ago Installed ubuntu 14.04 on an hp spectre x360. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1477299] Re: please fix building apt using gcc-snapshot
or the fix which is in the experimental branch for this issue for 2+ months now… ;) 353c135e45d3b76dbecc1ba1b2bd9266601181ee I don't think the virtual package handling CacheSetHelperAPTGet provides is really needed (nor even wanted) for download or changelog, so we can just use the default helper – as before without a crazy non-sense std::ostream to bool conversion. The auto_ptr think keeps being a warning for now, right? I am happily using c++11 features in (currently unreleased) patches, but I have my doubts if I should really force c++11 upon the reverse dependencies just now (as the auto_ptr gcc is warning about here is in a public header). Even through std=c++11 is the new default, right? Well, we will see after the gcc5 transition is done. There are some more issues with apt build with gcc5 and running with the new libstdc++6, namely that some code pieces assume std::string to have copy-on-write behavior, which it doesn't have in c++11 mode anymore which can be observed by the integration tests – not run at buildtime, but by autopkgtest. Patches for that are in the experimental branch, too, for a while as they break the abi, but the step to gcc5 does break abi anyhow so who cares. ;) mvo said he isn't around for a while, so I will try to polish up the sid-gcc5 branch he created and follow up at debbug#790979 then I am done hopefully later this weekend. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1477299 Title: please fix building apt using gcc-snapshot Status in apt package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: please fix building apt using gcc-snapshot. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1240957] Re: Scrolling behaviour and window focus has changed and is inconsistent
Still affecting KDE users on 14.04 LTS. Here's a workaround I found on the KDE bug tracker: cat ~/.kde/env/fix_gtk3.sh EOF #!/bin/sh export GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1 EOF chmod +x ~/.kde/env/fix_gtk3.sh Source: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348270#c26 ** Bug watch added: KDE Bug Tracking System #348270 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348270 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to gtk+3.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1240957 Title: Scrolling behaviour and window focus has changed and is inconsistent Status in Compiz: Fix Released Status in GTK+: Fix Released Status in X.Org X server: Confirmed Status in compiz package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in gtk+3.0 package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: I wasn't sure which package to file this bug against, but seeing as it's a general desktop usability/consistency bug, the top level desktop environment seemed like a good target. On Ubuntu 13.10, AMD64, everything default (Unity 7 on X.org etc), except for installing nvidia-319-updates, all current packages as of now (2013-10-17; unity 7.1.2+13.10.20131014.1-0ubuntu1), I now have this behaviour which is different from Ubuntu versions up to 13.04, and, is also inconsistent within itself. Here's what I've found: The scrolling behaviour has changed, and seems to be different per application in Ubuntu 13.10. The old behaviour (up to 13.04): mouse pointer above window would allow scrolling, regardless of focus Apps that use the old behaviour: libreoffice, firefox, gnome-terminal The new behaviour (13.10): window must be focused, and pointer hovered above to allow scrolling Apps that use the new behaviour: nautilus, gedit, ubuntu-bug, software-updater STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open gEdit, press enter until the window is scrollable. 2. Open Firefox, go to a webpage that's scrollable. 3. Place gEdit above Firefox but off to the right side so gEdit's scrollbar is still visible, have gEdit focused. 4. Position mouse pointer above gEdit, observe scrollwheel causes gEdit window to scroll. 5. Move mouse pointer above Firefox but do not focus Firefox, observe scrollwheel causes Firefox window to scroll. 6. Focus Firefox, leave pointer above Firefox, observe scrollwheel causes Firefox window to scroll 7. Move mouse pointer above gEdit but do not focus gEdit, observe scrollwheel FAILS to cause gEdit window to scroll. This behaviour is the same with any combination of the above apps (libreoffice, firefox, gnome-terminal all scrollable as long as pointer is above them; nautilus, gedit, software-updater, ubunut-bug will not scroll unless focused *and* have pointer above them) What *SHOULD* happen, is that any window will scroll as long as the pointer is above it. That's how it's always been in Ubuntu. Hi, we are in July, r24 is out, and still the same problems are here. Any news on this? Especially on the third point. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1478173] Re: Ambiance Radiance themes are missing a background-color for tooltip elements (needed for GTK3-enabled Firefox Nightly)
I have not had a change to test this on older Ubuntus with the new nightly firefox yet but I can confirm this is a issue with 15.04 15.10 . And since when this hits in the latest firefox (that will be shipped on nearly all supported Ubuntu builds) this fix may need to be tested and applied to older and newer builds of Ambaince Themes (EG one in 14.04 , 12.04 etc.) I am not sure yet however. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-themes in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1478173 Title: Ambiance Radiance themes are missing a background-color for tooltip elements (needed for GTK3-enabled Firefox Nightly) Status in ubuntu-themes package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Firefox Nightlies recently became GTK3-enabled, and that uncovered an issue with Ubuntu's Ambiance Radiance GTK3 themes. They're missing a background-color for the .tooltip {...} CSS rule in their config files. They have a tooltip_bg_color variable, which they use to set up a background-image (really a gradient), but there's no background-color. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1478291] [NEW] clickstore search for 'video' keyword returns neither the Video scope nor My Video's scope
Public bug reported: OS Ubuntu touch 15.04 r24 channel: stable Device: any A search in the store for the searchword 'Video' does not return the Video Scope or My Video Scope. It does return 89 other scopes and clicks. As using a scope is atm moment the default way of playing a video stored on the device, one or both of these scopes have to be discoverable. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1478222] [NEW] Ubuntu Touch forgets WiFi settings after first connection. EDUROAM network WPA WPA2 Enterprise
Public bug reported: Using WPA WPA2 Enterprise I connected to the EDUROAM WiFi network with Ubuntu Touch. This works fine. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1429887] Re: Sometimes need 3 power button presses to turn on screen

Last week while traveling and roaming this happened pretty much 100% of the time. This occurred in all areas (hotel, MWC, outside, etc) Press power button, no response Press button again, screen turns on for a few seconds then turns off Press button again, either phone resumes or more often the power dialog is shown When I returned back home the function was normal without reboot or other changes. The differences in environment: Roaming on foreign GSM network Lots of Wifi APs not connected Attached are some perhaps relevant logs, unfortunately the syslog rolled.
