@milasudril, good point! "KDE System Settings" is in the package systemsettings. Since plasma-desktop depends on systemsettings, I had already installed it and did not mention it. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1051665] Re: [USB-Audio - SB X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro, playback] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound
FWIW, I'm on archlinux but experience the same issue (and I did so back when I used ubuntu). I thought I'd share that I could fix the crackling noise by disabling realtime scheduling. Here's my daemon.conf which produces fine sound: $ cat ~/.config/pulse/daemon.conf default-sample-rate = 48000 alternate-sample-rate = 44100 default-sample-format = s16le realtime-scheduling = no -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1051665 Title: [USB-Audio - SB X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro, playback] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: The sound is constantly crackling when I'm listening to the music. If I listen to last.fm or youtube for instance in my Chromium browser the sound is really good. If I try to use Rhythmbox or Banshee first couple of songs may be heard fine but then crackling comes. Especially crackling starts if I launch Skype. Even if later I turn Skype off still the sound remains bad. I failed to try to redirect the sound directly to ALSA device bypassing PulseAudio server (I didn't find audio settings neither in Rhythmbox nor Banshee) so I cannot tell whether the problem depends on the server or it lays somewhere below in ALSA subsystem. Also I tried to play with default-fragments and default-fragment-size-msec values in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf but it didn't help. Then having read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems page I added tsched=0 argument to load-module module-udev-detect line in /etc/pulse/default.pa. The result was not successful. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1497611] Re: navigation through scopes very slow
The bug contains several issues, 1. Slow speed 2. Navigation issues -> this one is very important I think. I have seven active scopes (indicated by the dots). It takes me up to 6 taps, to go to one of my FAVORITE scopes. Each tap, it starts to load a new scope, which takes time. -> I think an easy solution, that does not conflict with design issues, would be to just make the dots clickable. I know, they are small, but even if I pick a neighbor, I would end up having 2 taps - instead of 6! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1497611 Title: navigation through scopes very slow Status in unity-scopes-shell package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I an using a Meizu MX4 with software version 15.04 (r4). Even though this is a powerfull phone moving between scopes is still laggy and slow also some auto refresh as you move to them. I would like to suggest that auto refresh takes place in the background so all scopes are ready when you flick through them. Also I wonder if a scope selection system would be a good idea so you could just direct to the scope you want and not have to scroll through many scopes before reaching the one you wish to use. Note, The Today scope is improving slowly and the time for each item to show is reducing, but basically its still far too slow to be the main scope. If you refresh say the BBC news scope it completes in a 2 seconds, the today scope still takes 10s (even after fixing the delay to show calls and texts). I understand people are working very hard to improve this key area. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1510709] Re: In Wily libgtk-3-common pulls in adwaita-icon-theme which in return pulls in ubuntu-mono
Hi, It is libgtk-3-common, which starting from Jessie in Debian, brings in adwaita-icon-theme as a mandatory dependency. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-icon- theme/+question/274092 ** In Debian Wheezy: https://packages.debian.org/wheezy/libgtk-3-common there are no icon themes in the depends. In Debian Jessie: https://packages.debian.org/jessie/libgtk-3-common dep: adwaita-icon-theme (>= 3.14) appears. then it's also there in Stretch and in sid. adwaita-icon-theme in return brings in hicolor-icon-theme: https://packages.debian.org/jessie/adwaita-icon-theme >From there, in Ubuntu Wily where I noticed several big icon themes coming soon >while building a custom setup in my computer using a mini.iso: http://packages.ubuntu.com/wily/libgtk-3-common → adwaita-icon-theme and: http://packages.ubuntu.com/wily/adwaita-icon-theme We get the followin depends: hicolor-icon-theme default fallback theme for FreeDesktop.org icon themes (…) ubuntu-mono Ubuntu Mono Icon theme ou adwaita-icon-theme-full default icon theme of GNOME A "below CD size ISO" isn't just about burning CD, about hard drive space, it's about a vast majority of potential users who have 2 GB max bandwidth, or even closer to the dialup connection; it is about saving electricity, about saving money and about being able to install Ubuntu on older machines where only a CD can be read! It is about more than one issue. It is about "making it possible to get it", "making it easy to burn for old computers", "making it easier to download", making it economical, and more ecological. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1444226] Re: [Kubuntu 15.04 beta] can't connect to wifi with Ralink RT2561/RT61 and NetworkManager

** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1506139 Title: 15.10beta crashes encrypted swap partition Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi, I'm usually using a setup with three partitions on a disk Partition 1: plain ext4 boot partition mounted on /boot Partition 2: luks-encrypted swap Partition 3: luks-encrypted btrfs for / /home ... both mentioned in /etc/crypttab like sda2_crypt UUID=a7976d5c-6191-436d-9cf9-2cedf17d0893 none luks, swap, discard sda3_crypt UUID=339b9a90-8292-422d-a3cf-eeb0317e9f84 none luks, discard With several machines I have installed 15.10 beta on and in several cases I experienced the problem that the swap is not activated at boot time and that /dev/disks/by-uuid does not contain a link to the swap partition, and the previously created luks-encrypted swap is destroyed after boot: It is not a luks partition anymore and filled with random (presumably encrypted) bytes without structure. I first thought that this is a problem of the setup process, and repaired the swap manually. But then I found the partition destroyed again. This happend several times on several machines. I am not sure yet what exactly would destroy the partition. You have been subscribed to a public bug: As I also asked in http://askubuntu.com/questions/698855/severe- rendering-issues-in-games-intel-hd-4000-ubuntu-15-10 After updating Ubuntu to 15.10, 3D Steam games don't render things correctly. The issue is so severe that it is unplayable, as polygons are smeared all over the screen (see screenshots in the askubuntu link above). GLGears works fine, so I looked for advanced OpenGL samples I can test it on but couldn't find anything, not ready to use nor something I need to compile. My processor is Intel® Core™ i5-4430 CPU @ 3.00GHz × 4 and I use the processors graphics, i.e. Intel HD 4000 series (Intel® Haswell Desktop). The system is 64 bit, with 8 gigs of RAM. I tried installing the ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers repository and drivers, but it didn't help. I tried installing XFCE desktop and running the game from there, so there is no Compiz interference, but it didn't help. ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment drivers opengl -- Severe OpenGL rendering issues in games https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1518003 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1493178] Re: PageHeadStyle should coordinate Page.head.contents and the ActionBar to not overlap, if possible
I am too facing same issue in calendar app, http://people.canonical.com/~alan/screenshots/device-2015-11-10-110730.png I would like to move one of icon to tray, it would be nice to have control over numberOfSlots. related branch https://code.launchpad.net/~pkunal-parmar/ubuntu-calendar-app/Uitk1_3/+merge/276338 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-ui-toolkit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1493178 Title: PageHeadStyle should coordinate Page.head.contents and the ActionBar to not overlap, if possible Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: In my app "Lone Wolf", I use Page.head.contents to add an interactive widget to the page header. It looks like this: https://myapps.developer.ubuntu.com/site_media/appmedia/2015/09/screenshot20150803_125313389.png In SDK 1.3, there are up to three action icons shown, instead of the one in SDK 1.2. This means the header is too crowded and Page.head.contents may overlap the action icons, depending on how long the page title is (and how wide the screen is of course). Looking at PageHeadStyle.qml, there is no relationship between Page.head.contents.width and ActionBarStyle.width. But I think there should be. I don't seem to have any control over ActionBarStyle.numberOfSlots myself. Or any control over how wide the ActionBar is. In short, I can't figure out how to replicate my header behavior with SDK 1.3. Maybe the answer is I shouldn't stick widgets in the header? But otherwise, I'd consider this a bug. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1506139] Re: 15.10beta crashes encrypted swap partition
Further observations: I meanwhile figured out three modes: 1) putting the swap flag into /etc/crypttab -> crashes the partition every now and then, but not always. 2) removing the flag from /etc/crypttab, but keeping it in /etc/fstab and keeping it in /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume: Everything works well , but a) initramfs asks for the password twice (once per partition), which is sort of annoying, maybe the password sharing scripts coming with cryptsetup might work (didn't try yet with 15.10). 3) as 2, but removing /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume: Interesting effect. The bootprocess asks for password only once for the root partition(!), but systemd nevertheless mounts the swap partition as a second luks device without needing the password. Source code says something about a password cache, so the password from the root device seems to be cache for some time and accessible. Nice, but resume from hibernation does not work. Unfortunately the ubuntu installer produces mode 1, which does not really work. This mess should really be fixed for 16.04 LTS. In my eyes it's a major problem of systemd, but the initramfs code could also be extended to use the password cache (which is there and caches anyway) to avoid asking twice. regards -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1506139 Title: 15.10beta crashes encrypted swap partition Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi, I'm usually using a setup with three partitions on a disk Partition 1: plain ext4 boot partition mounted on /boot Partition 2: luks-encrypted swap Partition 3: luks-encrypted btrfs for / /home ... both mentioned in /etc/crypttab like sda2_crypt UUID=a7976d5c-6191-436d-9cf9-2cedf17d0893 none luks, swap, discard sda3_crypt UUID=339b9a90-8292-422d-a3cf-eeb0317e9f84 none luks, discard With several machines I have installed 15.10 beta on and in several cases I experienced the problem that the swap is not activated at boot time and that /dev/disks/by-uuid does not contain a link to the swap partition, and the previously created luks-encrypted swap is destroyed after boot: It is not a luks partition anymore and filled with random (presumably encrypted) bytes without structure. I first thought that this is a problem of the setup process, and repaired the swap manually. But then I found the partition destroyed again. This happend several times on several machines. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1518003] Re: Severe OpenGL rendering issues in games
** Package changed: ubuntu => mesa (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1518003 Title: Severe OpenGL rendering issues in games Status in mesa package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: As I also asked in http://askubuntu.com/questions/698855/severe- rendering-issues-in-games-intel-hd-4000-ubuntu-15-10 After updating Ubuntu to 15.10, 3D Steam games don't render things correctly. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1520887] [NEW] Workaround Ubuntu 15.10. Network manager applet cannot stabely activate mobile broadband. ZTE MF820D.
Public bug reported: Hi, I use Ubuntu 15.10. If I Start Ubuntu from power-off, then I can enter the PIN-code for the SIM-card, and I also get prompted for my password (to make changes to the mobile broadband device). The 4G-USB-modem gets green light for establishing an 4G (or 3G) connection, but it is impossible to connect to the 4G-internet from the drop down menu of network manager at this stage; I get an error message. (I have set up this 4G-internet-connention with help from the network-manager wizard, using defaults, except turning off roaming and setting allow all users to connect.) However, if I choose to reboot without power-off, the green light on the USB-modem stays on during the reboot (keeps 4G-connected I presume), then it is possible to connect to internet from the drop down menu, most of the time. One time I also had to deactivate-activate mobile broadband from the drop down menu for internet connection to be established. It is also not possible to edit the connections of the mobile broadband in the network manager applet (gets an error message). Editing the wifi- connection works just fine.
