Bug description:
  ## Cmake ##

  A change in Pango [1] broke builds using GTK2 as the pango source will
  include hb.h but miss the proper include paths.

  A fix was brought up in [2] and should be added to cmake in Focal to
  allow things to build with the new pango.

  Focal currently is at cmake 3.15.4-1 and [3] is a backport of that
  change to the 3.15 series.

  Note: after that is resolved navit will need a no change rebuild to
  pick up libgpsd25 which got me initially to find this issue.

Bug description:
  Trying to use the impress remote
  (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Impress_Remote) over bluetooth
  with libreoffice over ubuntu bionic fails.

  The handset errors out that it cannot connect with Libreoffice on the
  computer even if the bluetooth adapter on the handset and on the
  computer are correctly paired.

  This does not seem to be an issue in the Libreoffice or in the impress
  remote code:

  - I have tested also past LibO versions
  - The Impress remote codebase has not changed recently

  This used to work on the same hardware (headset and laptop) with
  ubuntu 16.04.

  Hence the issue seems to be in a regression in the ubuntu bluetooth
  stack.

  To replicate:

  1) Install Libreoffice on Ubuntu bionic (either from the ubuntu repo
  or with the deb packages from the document fundation)

  2) Assure that your computer has bluetooth

  3) Install impress remote on an android handset (either from the play
  store of via fdroid)

  4) Assure that "remote control" is enabled in impress
  Tools>Options>Impress>General

  5) Pair the bluetooth adapters in the laptop and in the computer

  6) Open a presentation on the laptop

  7) Open the remote on the handset, got to the bluetooth pane see the
  computer there, touch it

  8) See the impress remote erroring out

  Most likely you will also get a bluetooth error on dmesg

  RFCOMM server failed for LibreOffice Impress Remote: rfcomm_bind:

  Same issue was reported for fedora

Correction: That's of course *octal* 012 and 015, aka. Line Feed and
Carriage Return. That should probably be explicit in the documentation.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1857733] [NEW] MOTD "safe_print" prints control characters

2019-12-27 Thread Victor Engmark
Public bug reported:

/etc/update-motd.d/50-motd-news contains a function called "safe_print".
Its documentation says it does not print control characters, but this is
false. If you look at the `tr` command it prints \012 (Device Control 2

possibly be a security issue, especially since it makes the code more
complex than it should be (`tr -d '\000-\011\013\014\016-\037'` vs `tr
-d '\000-\037'`). A quick `/etc/update-motd.d/50-motd-news --force |
grep $'\x12\|\x15'` returned exit code 1, so it's not part of the

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1857461] Re: package systemd 242-7ubuntu3.2 failed to install/upgrade: bağımlılık sorunları - yapılandırılmadan bırakılıyor

2019-12-27 Thread Dan Streetman
As the error message isn't in English, I have to rely on translation of
it; but it appears that you have a partially-configured package
(libsystemd0).  Can you try running:

$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt upgrade

to see if either of those commands provide specific suggestion(s) of
commands for you to run? If so, please run the suggested command(s) and
see if that fixes your system. If not, then please try:

$ sudo dpkg --configure -a

and/or

$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure libsystemd0

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1853768] Re: Qt apps, like kid3-qt, which uses legacy icons "document-*.png", show them as normal document icon under Yaru theme

2019-12-27 Thread Amr Ibrahim
Just a bit of context:
Symbolic action icons are the de-facto in a GNOME environment, full-colour
icons are legacy, that's why Yaru theme didn't originally have any "legacy"
full-colour action icons as its original author refused to do so.
The recent addition of the coloured document-*.png icons in Yaru is just a
workaround for Qt apps in order not to appear broken under Yaru. And not all
full-colour icons will be in Yaru, only the needed document-*.png ones.

  The icons are all shown as the same normal document icon under Yaru.

  Qt apps only have a problem with legacy icons starting with
  "document-*" and all other legacy icons are inherited from Humanity
  under Yaru.

  Is there a general solution to force Qt apps to choose the closest
  icon name from Yaru or Humanity?

  Should this bug be issued against upstream Qt?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1335558] Re: lexmark e230 needs usb-no-reattach-default=true

2019-12-27 Thread Silviu C.
Hi,

If it's related to this bug, then it could be that it needs an entry in:

/usr/share/cups/usb/org.cups.usb-quirks

You will need to get the correct usb IDs from lsusb. Quoting from the file I
mentioned:

# To get the USB vendor and product IDs for a given printer, run the "lsusb"
# command, which will show something like the following:
#
# Bus 002 Device 003: ID ab21:34dc Acme Example Printer
#
# The "ab21:34dc" is the vendor and product ID, separated by a colon.

Append the info you get at the end of the file. Save it. Turn off your
printer. Then turn it on again.

gawk has -e option, but it is not installed by default at least in
Xubuntu, so (very) old mawk may be used.

Solution: Either use "awk --" instead of "awk -e" or use "gawk -e" and
put gawk as dependency.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1335558] Re: lexmark e230 needs usb-no-reattach-default=true

2019-12-27 Thread Halacs
Hi,

I have a Lexmark E120 printer. It is working fine with Windows 7 and
Windows 10. I'm trying to migrate all my PCs to Ubuntu but my printer
prints one line garbage from Ubuntu. Seems to be related to this bug.
Any idea how to solve it? Thanks!

Please power off your laptop completely and power it on again after 1
minute. Paste dmesg log since boot and your linux-firmware version, then we

Title:
  NFS volume not mounting with systemd

Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Hello,

  I'm unable to mount NFS volume at boot time with systemd. Using Ubuntu
18.04.2 LTS.
  I commented out /etc/fstab entry:
  #192.168.1.103:/Multimedia/Music  /mnt/nas/music/ nfs
_netdev,auto,user,vers=30   0

  I created "/etc/systemd/system/mnt-nas-music.mount":
  [Unit]
  Description=NAS volume - Music
  After=network.target

  [Mount]
  What=192.168.1.103:/Multimedia/Music
  Where=/mnt/nas/music/
  Type=nfs
  Options=_netdev,auto,user,nfsvers=3
  TimeoutSec=10

  [Install]
  WantedBy=multi-user.target

  I enabled it with "systemctl enable mnt-nas-music.mount" so that when I run
"systemctl is-enabled mnt-nas-music.mount" I obtain:
  enable

  But I keep obtaining this error ("systemctl status mnt-nas-
  music.mount"):

   mnt-nas-music.mount - NAS volume - Music
 Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/mnt-nas-music.mount; enabled; vendor
preset: enabled)

Process: 1530 ExecMount=/bin/mount 192.168.1.103:/Multimedia/Music
/mnt/nas/music -t nfs -o _netdev,user,nfsvers=3 (code=exited, status=32)

result 'exit-code'.
  lug 30 21:23:42 ubuntu-desktop systemd[1]: Failed to mount NAS volume - Music.

  If I run "journalctl -b" I notice that the attempt to mount NFS volume
happens before network is ready:

  I think this is a bug.
  Thanks in advance
  Michele

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I frequently find that audio streams in pulseaudio are playing at the
  wrong speed. They are either a bit slow or a bit fast. To my ears I
  would say that the difference in pitch is probably around one tone, or
  somewhere around the ratio of 44100Hz to 48000Hz. Killing pulseaudio
  and letting it get respawned usually fixes the problem.

  My main audio hardware is a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.

  Example: I have just tried to play a 44100Hz MP3 in Audacious. It came
  out a bit slower and flatter than it should. I ran "pulseaudio -k" and
  then tried again. This time it played at the right speed.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1852018] Re: Audio Stops Playing Briefly When Emptying Trash

2019-12-27 Thread Alexander Pistoletov
> A secondary problem, which might be an unfixable design choice, is
that it sounds like PulseAudio clients can block the sound of the entire
server.

If that's unfixable, then perhaps it makes sense to remove this behavior
from clients which are bundled with Ubuntu, such as Nautilus. They don't
have to block the sound of the entire server, right?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1852018] Re: Audio Stops Playing Briefly When Emptying Trash

2019-12-27 Thread Alexander Pistoletov
Does the same thing happen if you try to shift+delete something in Nautilus?
(this also causes a dialog window to pop up)
I have a very similar issue if I play music in foobar2000 through Wine using
its "wasapi shared" output method and do that - the sound stutters for a brief
amount of time.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1857689] [NEW] bionic 18.04 network-manager-strongswan cannot connect behind a mobile wwan connection

2019-12-27 Thread Cyanryaku
Public bug reported:

For some reason, I downloaded several ubuntu source deb packages (for

installed:

I setup a remote VPN server at AWS EC2, which has an Elastic IP exposed.
The VPN can be connected correctly via iOS (4G/LTE mobile, or WiFi
behind NAT) and MacOS (via WiFi behind NAT) devices.

When trying to connect from Ubuntu 18.04 which has networkmanager
installed with strongswan plug-in, it never succeeded when the mobile
wwan is connected, but it works only it has wired ethernet or wifi
connected behind a NAT.

As you can see, the IKE encryption algorithm proposal cannot be chosen
between VPN server and Ubuntu client. There may be some blocking between
this. However, I suppose this should not be an issue casued by mobile
ISP because my iOS device used the same mobile ISP and it has no issue.

There is no firewall (ufw or iptables) setup

This will not happen to the case with wifi or ethernet only NAT behind
another mobile ISP.

Any possible reason? which underlying I shall upgrade as well for
specific Ubuntu 18.04?

Thanks for listening.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1845046] Re: Bluetooth headphones/speaker default to low quality headset mode and fails to switch to A2DP when selected

2019-12-27 Thread s.illes79
Same problem with Sony WH-1000XM2

My workaround is

1. Turn on headphone, wait to connect with low quality sink
2. Turn off bluetooth, wait couple of seconds and turn on
3. Reconnect headphones.

Works all the time.

Ubuntu: 18.04
Sony WH-1000XM2
