[Touch-packages] [Bug 1945895] Re: screen flickring after installing cpufreq
Flickering and a lack of smoothness are two different issues. The lack of smoothness would just be due to your GPU staying at a lower frequency more often, so it's not a bug but something you would need to tune yourself. As for the flickering, please edit /etc/default/grub and change: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" to: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i915.enable_psr=0" and then run: sudo update-grub and reboot. If the problem still happens after that then while it is happening, please run: journalctl -b0 > journal.txt and attach the resulting text file here along with a video of the flickering problem. ** Summary changed: - screen flickring after installing cpufreq + [HP EliteBook 820 G2] screen flickring after installing cpufreq ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => linux-hwe-5.11 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux-hwe-5.11 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1945895 Title: [HP EliteBook 820 G2] screen flickring after installing cpufreq Status in linux-hwe-5.11 package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: after installing cpufreq the screen flickring and smoothness disappeared in ubuntu . Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Bug reporting is mostly about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug. I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709 ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1945912 Title: Shows Blank Screen on boot Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I tried setting nomodeset, it allowed me to boot but i am not able to control brightness and other stuff. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1943840] Re: [FFe] Update the ubuntu-desktop-minimal seed to use the firefox snap
Sam, that is the reason why we're doing this in a normal, non-LTS release, which gives us time to identify and iron out problems and regressions like this, while exposing the change to real-world testing. The firefox deb package will remain supported for the duration of the 21.10 release, so this is not locking users or extensions out. Jonathan, native messaging support in strictly-confined browser snaps is being discussed here: https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/native-messaging- support-in-strictly-confined-browser-snaps/26849. Constructive feedback and use cases, as well as suggestions, are welcome. Me-too -like comments and rants are not. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1945894] Re: Translated strings not imported from damned lies
Thanks for your report! We don't import translations directly from Damned Lies, but via the PO files in upstream's tarballs. The latest gtk3 version in Ubuntu is 3.24.30 which was released on July 8. So if those strings were translated after July 8, they are not yet in Ubuntu due to the workflow, but will show up later (probably only in 22.04). [Touch-packages] [Bug 990982] Re: [Multiarch] libfreetype6-dev:i386 dependencies issue
Out of interest, I installed 18.04 in a VM and had no problems installing the multi-arch libfreetype6-dev packages for and64 and i386. That said, you’re largely out of luck when it comes to building Wine from source on 18.04. Even the most recent point release (18.04.6) is limited by many build-dependencies not being multi-arch ready. Multi-arch support really improved after 18.04. I’m afraid you’ll need to migrate to 20.04 or more recent. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to freetype in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990982 Title: [Multiarch] libfreetype6-dev:i386 dependencies issue Status in freetype package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in glibc package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: I'm on alex@leon:~$ uname -a Linux leon 3.2.0-24-generic #37-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 25 08:43:22 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux It's a fresh 12.04 install from a mini 30MB iso dd'ed to a USB flash drive. So it's clean and up-to-date. I have libfreetype6 and libfreetype6-dev installed. To compile wine from source (32 and 64 bit version), I need both 32 and 64 bit development packages of several libraries.
